  • Comments Thread For: Hearn on De La Hoya: There's Loads of Business We Can Do Together; We're Talking Munguia Versus Ryder

Eddie Hearn is receptive to Oscar De La Hoya's recent call to action to promoters. Last week, Golden Boy's De La Hoya exhorted rival promoters to come together and collaborate on making "all the fights the fans want to see."

I applaud both promoters for wanting to make things happen. Th hey should have no issues being on the same platform. If they were to make meaningful fights that would even make me consider getting dazn, which I’ve never traded with. I admit I’m not a fan of this statement here though:

“He wants everybody to come together but will abuse me on social media,” Hearn said of De La Hoya in an interview with SecondsOut.com. “I don’t care for that. I want to make great fights.”

Hasnt Hearn made a career out of the same tactics since 2018?

Absolutely! PBC's stable is on lock with a network that's not renewing the contract, DAZN has match-ups that nobody cares about and Arum is running a circus. All of these guys thought they would cut the other out and soon they'll be forced to play in the same room.

What happened to Munguía vs Berlanga? Both sides afraid of losing their hype jobs?

Munguia vs Ryder is meh, although I’d watch it. Munguia vs Berlanga is better.

Ryan Garcia vs the winner of Haney-Prograis would be excellent.

Garcia don't wanna fight Haney. already was a mandatory for him and didn't want the fight.

Garcia fought Tank with weight stipulations. He doesn’t fear Haney.

Hearn protesting too much about abuse he has got, he was more than happy to dish it out at school and all the up to being a boxing promoter.

Anyway, good news that these meetings are happening, Oscar making a move and getting meetings going. Lets hope it leads to meaningful fights.
