BUT, that doesn't take away the fact that his jab is still like a power punch. Watch the Mosley, Judah, and Gomez fights and you'll see it. It is a GREAT jab, and is far and away his best punch.
He caught him wit the right punch at the right time..Pacquiao's balance isn't too good either..that punch woulda put him down too!..

It's a nice jab, but probably not enough to keep Pacquiao off him entirely. He needs to be prepared for a 100mph powerpunch fest!

Oh I agree....I'm just sayin it aint like Cotto's gonna start knockin people out with his jab. It was a good, stiff jab, if it wasn't it wouldn't have put Clottey down.

But it didn't hurt him, he just got caught off balance with a stiff, straight punch. Like when Kellerman went "a kd of a granite chinned opponent off a jab", I was like Max shut up haha. Good punch, good timing, but it wasn't indicative of any crazy power.

Honestly, I think you're reaching. That punch wasn't great by any means. Clottey was off balance. If it was so good, there's no way he would have absorbed far bigger shots all night withouth barely flinching.

                What am I reaching for?..lol
Clottey wasn't stumbling in or anything..he was set on his feet..walked up to punch and Cotto hit him first..yea he caught him off balance..but Clottey was goin to punch and Cotto timed it perfectly..it was a great punch using Boxing 101!..

I never said he hurt him..dazed him..had him on "***** street " or **** like that..but you can't discredit the timing and quality of jab it was..period..

The Marquez vs Pac rematch was a War for Pac.

Both DLH and Hatton fights combined for Pac were feast's for him.

On a side note, I aint falling for the hype, I am positive that if Cotto's weight doesn't affect him then he's going to give Manny Hell.

Cotto's been a better boxer for a years back, Manny just became one. You cant take that away from Cotto.

There are many more, and in my opinion they outweigh a slight weight disadvantage. I'm gonna think of a couple of things where I see an advantage for Pacquiao...

Stance. Pacquiao is a southpaw. Miguel is left-hand dominant. Pacquiao could have some very good success because of this. His last two opponents, De La Hoya and Hatton, are also left-hand dominant. Yum.... breakfast.

Speed. If this fight ever came down to whoever lands the first knockout punch, chances are Manny would be first. Would Manny's power trouble Cotto? The KO shot that looked like it almost killed Ricky Hatton would hurt pretty much anyone who doesn't have a head made out of concrete! You cannot doubt that ****. That was one punch. Pacquiao throw hundreds of them and has good power in both hands. The right right looks less powerful than the left, but it's gotta be maybe 75% as strong? I dunno. Pacquiao has carried his power up well while increasing weight. If the reports of recent sparring sessions are anything to go by, Pacquiao seems to be doing well against fast middleweight-sized opponents. Considering this, I think Pacquiao indeed hurts Cotto.

I also think Cotto can and will hurt Pacquiao at times, but not enough to knock him out. Manny's chin is solid, he can take a hell of a shot. Cotto's body shots shouldn't be a major concern. A lot of people might disagree on that, but Pacquiao has one of the best conditioned bodies in boxing, regularly utilizing techniques used by martial artists, such as stick training, to toughen up his body. That's some serious ****.

There are other, slightly less obvious things to consider, for example, if Cotto is prone to cuts right now, it could be a major issue. Beyond everything though, Cotto needs to knock Pacquiao out. The reason why should be obvious to anyone: Pacquiao vs. Mayweather = serious paper. If you think the guys in suits are letting that one slip away, think again. If it goes to the cards, Cotto might be unlucky. You have to consider the politics, not just the fighters.

Overall, I'm fairly confident of a Pacquiao victory. I understand why other people have doubts though, because these are two great fighters. I just happen to believe Pacquiao is greater.
i wish i had an ounce of sum of your confidence in pac lol. this is gonna be a close one.

Well I was seeing the Cotto vs Zap Judah fight and the Diaz vs Pacquiao fight. Not to compare any fighters, but Diaz kind of has the same stance as Cotto and Diaz was wide open to many of pacquiaos punches. While Zap Judah was loading up Cotto with straight right hands and uppercuts. Pacquiao speed could be too much, maybe. But I know Cotto can beat Pacquiao, but it all depends what he does inside the ring. But Cotto shouldn't go traying punches with Pacquiao thats might make him lose steem as the fight progress.
