It was the boxing media also which seem to go over the top with Fury. I think it is a symptom of today's culture with some folk 'They get carried away with the moment, or whoever is hot in the moment. I see this in other sports to, every week, every month, year there is a new greatest of all-time. There is a new athlete who should retire, and is nothing. But then the next month or performance he is on top-again.
Most boxing fans or sports fans for me? Don't really value history, and they struggle to put things into perspective. I have given Fury his credit for his two mega wins, and they are the best wins of his era in terms of historical magnitude 'The reason why I say that is because skill for skill, there may have actually been better wins. Joshua for me beat a better version of Kiltschko, and his win was more conclusion but? I still cannot rate Joshua's win greater than Fury's over Kiltschko in terms of historical magnitude.
Yes mate, Furys hardcore fans on the sly are very protective of Fury 'They were petrified before he fought Whyte, and celebratory as if that was a all-time great win. That was also a fluke knock-out, you can tell by how Fury and his team celebrated.
Note: It will be interesting of how Fury reacts to his recent form. He has gone quiet now, which suggest that the Nganonou performance was more serious than just 'Oh he never trained properly and all this nonsense. People need to think back to when Lennox Lewis loss to Hasim Rahman, fighters know when they have under prepared or been complacent 'I think Fury turn up vs Ngannou to dazzle the world, and he could not do it mate. That is why his performance has hit him hard' etc.
