Comments Thread For: Top Rank Prez on Scenario of Janibek vs. Eubank: It Takes Two To Make a Fight

Top Rank president Todd DuBoef, promoter for WBO middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly, is not confident that top contender Chris Eubank Jr. would come to the table to face the unbeaten titleholder.

TR should start sending the offer officially. Eubank's promoter can then counter, and so on.

An offer being turned down would make it official on who ducked the fight.

    Otherwise...

people like andrade and eubank make bek the monster as someone who is to be feared, hype is good i guess but its frustrating when guys who get a bit of hype dont end up in the ring with known challengers while they are going well

As much as many fans might call this a duck, Eubank Jr is making some sense here. Eubank has always been more businessman than fighter. What he's saying about the risk proposition of waiting for a big money fight over taking a low-money/high risk title fight with a no-name, but dangerous champion makes a lot of sense for him. From a pure business perspective, his mgmt team would be absolute fools to allow Eubank Jr to step into the ring with Alimkhanuly because he really wouldn't last 2 rounds.

Jr. is a smash and grab , he's never earned anything , including the name .His old boy was a completely different league and must look at his son as an imposter. Shame, he looked decent early but after the Liam Smith icing cannot be taken seriously as a middle weight/super middleweight threat.

Why not? Bentley went the full 12 and easily.

This would be a fight for two belts at 160. The division is a wasteland with no names. If not this fight, it’s someone else nobody has heard of
