Probably because Inoue is the best and biggest name under 130 lbs and the biggest cash purse dream for the lighter weight guys.

Also, a part of me thinks the reason Mayweather absolutely refuses to acknowledge Inoue and continues to call him "the kid from Japan" is because he's probably really salty that Inoue has a very realistic chance of accomplishing the few major boxing records that Mayweather wasn't capable of accomplishing like multi-division undisputed champion or a 6 division champion. He's not the smartest guy on Earth, but can't be ****** enough that he truly cannot remember Inoue's name despite hearing and reading about it so many times especially the past year. Heck, even if the exact pronunciation is hard, something like Ee-no-way isn't that hard.

That's his weak ass way of dismissing Inoue. Like he's not even relevant enough for him to know his name. Weak ass tactics I've seen from females all the time.
