    fight explains it all...
Tszyu was 35+ and had only fought 9 rounds in 3 years because he went through a couple surgeries on his shoulder and achilles tendon...besides just not being a very active fighter which I believe hurt him as well.

Hatton wrestled him all night to wear him out which it did. By the mid-rounds Tszyu was already breathing through his mouth and I was even surprised he lasted as long as he did fighting the way he did. He was taking shot after shot with his mouth wide open and still didn't go down.

Tszyu was talked about being past his prime even when he fought Judah. He was slowing down even then but his timing and power remained to keep him going.

With Phillips, he fought poorly. He abandoned his boxing skills for a toe to toe war...taking punch for punch. He loved his power way to much at that point. One thing I thought with Tszyu is it was always better for him to feel like the underdog because when he wasn't, he believed the hype machine and got careless.

Why did Pac get knocked out twice and put down several times more. Why did he lose to a past prime Morales?
    It happens.

One of the main things people are looking at in Favor of Kostya Tszyu is that he can time an opponent and throw a straight right, right down the middle. Considering Pac leaps in with his punches and leaves himself open and off balance most of the time when he does that...it could spell for a disaster with a puncher like Tszyu. Tszyu also has a nice left-hook which also would be a good weapon against a Southpaw...as seen in many of his fights as well as the Mitchell II fight when it was healed (as much as it could be).

Pac's advantage would be speed and work-rate but that could also be cut short when he starts taking punches back.

kostya tszyu is not just decent.

kostya tszyu is one of the greatest 140 pounders ever.

i'd give him a solid chance against chavez and even pryor.

pacquiao has 1 fight at 140. until he proves himself more at 140-147 then i might change my mind.

          pacquiao is a natural featherweight.

he's at his best at 140?

              after 1 fight?

140 is where he's best at now. with his growth and weight now.

doesn't mean 140 is his optimal weight.

pacquiao has a build of a featherweight.

stand pacquiao side by side with any natural lighterweight or super lightweight and you'll see the difference in size of their frame.

                tszyu is terribly underrated.

                his boxing skills were superb.

of course a lot of these guys that never saw his fights think he's just some slugger.

olympic boxing. the best showcase of just pure boxing skills. where power and stamina plays little factor.

Well I still like the timing and power combo even as an amateur

Kostya Tszyu as an amateur had some of the best boxing skills you'll see. He just changed his style when he turned pro and then fell in love with his power when he started knocking guys out.
