I just wonder what is taking them so long to announce the date of the match. I mean, both fighters eagerly wants it. Both promoters are fully into it. The organizations are all for it. The money is definitely available and it will definitely sell very well given that it is all but guaranteed to be in Japan (heck, more than Inoue, Tapales will be sad if its not in Japan as it means less money for him).
I'm not worried about it actually happening, but the date needs to be announced soon so that vacation plans can be made ya know :PComment

Probably behind the scenes negotiations with Team Tapales trying to leverage everything they can for the biggest check. Announcing it too soon can make people forget. I expect an announcement in late October or early November. The Fulton fight was put together very quickly.I just wonder what is taking them so long to announce the date of the match. Sucks for me as I'm willing to pay any amount of money (up to $2,000 lol) to see Inoue fight ringside in the US. Good thing it won't be Floyd/Pac/Canelo/Tank prices.

Ironically given the current dollar to yen conversion rates, you actually have a chance of getting decent seats while flying to Japan from west coast and back with $2k.
Just for example, for the Fulton match even the most expensive premium SRS tickets cost 220K yen which is about $1400~1500. Next most expensive normal ring side tickets were 165k yen, which is about $1100. A round trip flight from California to Tokyo costs like $600 right now,
Of course it might be costly if just thinking of it as one boxing match and back, but if you ever feel like going on a vacation trip to Japan and trying to sneak a boxing match in between it is certainly doable.Comment

Venue would be my guess. Venues get booked in Japan way in advance.I just wonder what is taking them so long to announce the date of the match. I mean, both fighters eagerly wants it. Given the likely popularity of the tickets and location, my guess would be its gotta be at either the Tokyo Ariake Arena (15000 capacity, the place the last two Inoue matches against Fulton and Butler were held at), or at the Yokohama Arena (17000 capacity, Inoue's hometown and where the Fulton match was planned to be prior to the extension due to Inoue's hand injury). I guess a slight chance is also Saitama Super Arena (22500 capacity, where the two Donaire matches were held at).
Quickly googling, the tickets for the July 25th Inoue-Fulton match started its first round of ticket pre-order lottery sales on May 12th, about 10 weeks prior to the actual match, so assuming it will be around early~mid-December it might be announced within the next week or two.
On a random note, next Thursday at Ariake is Casimero vs Oguni at the same venue, but the price for the most expensive ring side is like less than a quarter of the Inoue match (50k yen compared to 220k yen).Last edited by Elheath; 10-03-2023, 12:22 PM.Comment
