This. Excellent point. The reason is he knows he’s not in the driver’s seat with Canelo. But this is the problem with too many American fighters, they treat Canelo like a god and now down to him and that’s the wrong attitude to have. I miss the older generation of contenders who came to win at all cost. There is a real problem with American boxers and this “I just can’t lose and if I lose I better just make it to the 12th round” mindset. This is the legacy of the floyd Mayweather effect. Problem is none of these guys are Mayweather.

I think Bud has a lot of respect for Errol. I suspect Bud has no intention of actually returning to 147 and is just using the weight as a bargaining chip. He knows that's what Errol wants. No more B-side nonsense.

Stop asking for this fight. Canelo already said he doesn't want it. Why is Crawford not looking to collect the titles at 154? That would be his legacy third undisputed. It's just chasing the bag at this point, and would be a sad way to go out. We just got a good object lesson in what weight classes are about.

There is literally no reason why Canelo should be in the same sentence as welterweights. Crawford,Spence? You have David,Andrade and Bivol ready to fight you at 168. The only people that want to see this fight are people that want Canelo to beat up on a smaller guy,and people that want to see Crawford lose to a bigger guy. Crawford is 36 year old welterweight who started at 135. Why on earth do people want him to jump 21 lbs in order to fight a guy who's already had fights at 175?

Crawford has said it himself he wants to fight Canelo at 168. It's words from his own mouth.

I still think it's a very high risk move for Crawford. He jumping up 3 weight classes to fight one of the P4P greats today and has never fought there either.

I don’t think the Spence rematch happens and you will in fact see Canelo/ Crawford in May 2024. It’s probably the biggest money fight out there for either guy.
