Canelo is widely recognized as the if not one of the best pound for pound fighters in the world today. Charlo offered no excuses like a true champion but we know what hurdles he jumped to be in the position he was last night. 16 months of inactivity, his first fight after a broken hand, 14 pound weight jump. Charlo dared to be great and came up short. Fans will always be fickle. Had he gone out on his shield and gotten knocked out, fans would have dismissed his efforts entirely. He felt the weight difference in that ring and he fought a smarter fight and didn't risk getting knocked out. Yet even though he went 12 full rounds with the pound for pound, undisputed super middleweight champion, fans will still dismiss his efforts. As for me? I will give Charlo his props. He lives to fight another day. He didn't get knocked out nor sustain any considerable damage. He can recover better than had he gotten knocked out or hurt badly. He tried to be great at another weight class and came up short. That's boxing. Not everyone can achieve these feats that's why they are rare and that's why the fighters that do are truly special.
Charlo was there for a huge payday. Kudos to him. But he wasn't there to win.

Canelo offered Jack big money to come down to 180. Canelo is looking for any opportunity to make it appear that is still serious, while running from Benavidez. I honestly wouldn't even care if Canelo vacated, then he could go fight drained guys and guys weight classes below him all he wants. But he isn't a serious fighter anymore. He fought a blown up 154 guy last night, Canelo offered him huge money to come in and spar. Jermell never thought he would win. Not once.

It is disingenuos to say that last night was a serious fight.

Just like Floyd choosing to fight the older, smaller Marquez who also jumped up two weight classes. This matchup was worse because Marquez was not only a lot smaller than Floyd but older than Floyd too. Charlo vs Canelo was lackluster but at least they are the same age.

The haters are the same hypocrites that will praise Floyd. How soon they forget that Floyd fought and older, smaller Marquez that was also moving up two weight classes. Floyd failed to make weight and what was worse is that Marquez was not only smaller than Floyd, Marquez was older than Floyd too.

As an example take Crawford. He fought all the guys that would fight him. Waited years to finally get Spence. Dominated him and Spence was top 10 P4P. I have said for years, Crawford is underrated, he is a generational talent.

He is now talking about fighting Canelo at 168. That is chasing greatness, as well as chasing money. Which is how the sport should work. And Bud would show up to win. And he might.

I am a fan of Bud. That said, if he sits on the belts for a year and refuses to relinquish them, then tries to pull Canelo down to 155 or something as a weight clause...then starts pulling guys up from two weight classes lower.....all while still holding up the belts and not fighting Ennis....I will say he is ducking and has turned into a joke. I wouldnt buy his fights.

Canelo does the crap because his fans idolize him. Then they make excuses for him. It is pathetic.

Floyd fans worship that fraud and actually consider his victory over an MMA fighter to be legit just because it was pathetically credited to Fraud’s professional record. Floyd fighting an older, smaller Marquez and failing to make weight from fear of losing is just as… no, it’s more pathetic than what Canelo has done.

He at least went up in weight, and dared to be great, something Beterbiev won’t do. He still can fight the #2 in his division and re attempt to unify the division, something Beterbiev won’t do.

the only sh.itty ass joke fight is Beterbiev and Smith.
why would you want hyped up pbc scared sissy boys who get schooled in gym by spence who got destroyed in his 1st true fight? wtf is wrong with you idiots? Betterbiev ain't deserving either. just try and learn and smarten up. this kinda nonsense is dumb as fook and I wish your kind would go away from boxing. Charlo ran from Tsyou. which looks like was the smartest thing he could done because Timmy would fook him up. but now if that happens you can say Charlo coming back down fooked him up. corny ass fooker you

Benavidez is a real no name, draw wise. Look what the purse for be to recognize how big the Fury/Usyk fight will be. You live quite the sheltered life if all you watch is Canelovision 24 hrs. a day.

Charlo bascially ran and hugged the entire fight. A coward whose excuse of going up in weight is nosense because Canelo is not a 168 pounder. He should fight at 154. Canelo moved up from his original 147 to 175 to fight Bivol, not the same case as Charlo. Canelo also KOd the idiotic-looking Kovalev and others at 175. Neither GGG nor Bivol have moved up 4 weight classes like Canelo.

Not a Floyd fan. It has nothing to do with Canelo.
