Charlo was pulled up from 2 weight classes to give the illusion that Canelo is " back". Another opponent with a name coming off a long layoff at a detrimental weight gap, who had no firepower to deter Canelo thus giving the illusion to his rabid fan base that he is an unstoppable force. Now that the show is over, FIGHT BENAVIDES. Your mandatory and an opponent who will come to win, has legitimate punching power and is active and who will not be afraid to engage and has the ability to push back and not be pushed around.

why do you and others feel he did not come to win? Did you hear those shots lol? You need certain qualities to beat Canelo, and it is hillarious people talking about reach... Canelo has no reach, who beats him because of reach? Bivol was a big strong light heavy who threw punches in bunches, he could set up on Canelo, had little to do with reach. Trout was a boxer who could score points, like Plant, and avoid Canelo... This kid had power but Canelo's chin is excellent, even if he could have set down on his shots... He would have had to be able to scare Canelo with the jab and hurt him with power... Never was going to happen. He was pretty much a sacrificial lamb from the get go.

I just think Charlo was limited to hanging in there and hoping Canelo got old lol.
