if PBC was a companybthat made ppl money, then they wouldn't keep losing every single broadcaster they ever came across. + put 2 of the legendary boxing broadcasters to the point where they just said fook it we don't even wanna do boxing anymore lol. that and good company. not anywhere in the world for any one is that good business

Could be good or could be bad. Losing showtime is fine as long as PBC ends up on something more viewable. If it goes to Dazn that sucks. I had Dazn for like 3 years until the 250 price jump. Plus they had few good fighters and mostly just showed UK fights at like 2pm my time so I'd forget and never watch. I do like DAZN for their commitment to boxing and making an app that is primarily boxing focused, but they aren't good for the sport due to lack of main stream media attention.
If a fight is on ESPN at least they promote it, talk about it on their shows, etc. PBC going to Espn would probably be the best for the sport. But problem would be the large amount of fighters they would need to be putting on 3 cards a month at least. Which I'd like but who knows if they have room for it. Wouldn't want fighters just sitting for 2 years non stop due to lack of dates.
Would enjoy seeing soyspinoza fired though.Last edited by bchap05; 09-28-2023, 02:32 PM.

Celebrates Al’s success while having bled showtime dry and out of the sport for 96% showcase rating of pure shhh. This might be Espinoza now expecting uncle al to offer him a safety net since he got showtime to spend so much money on trash fight after trash fight for years.

Jesus christ are we at this again? Are we back with this Showtime is going out if business bullshyte again. We've been saying this for ten years now and they still keep on going. So let me get this str8t. Dazn has no American boxers of note that people would pay to see but they're doing fine and we have no smoke for them. GBP has turned into a circus led by a cross dressing ring leader and we have no smoke for them. TR just lost Crawford, Fury and Beterbiev refuse to fight anyone and Shakur is their last star who will probably be with PBC next year and we have no smoke for them. But showtime had two PPVs earlier this year with 20 mill gates and 1.4 and 800k buys with probably do another 1 mill buys and 20 mill gate......but Showtimes going out of business? So if Al, Bob, Oscar and Hearn walk into their bosses office and prove to them what they did this year that should make them want to keep boxing on their platform you mean to tell me everyone will be happy except for Paramount. My Lawd!! Folks it was just a rumor started by Ric snake face Glaser and Eddie Hearn. They ain't going nowhere. Now sit back and enjoy the scrap on Saturday and get ready for David v Andrade, Bud Spence II, Matias, The Tankster and and everyone else on the best boxing platform in the world!

As far as whats next I think neither DAZN or ESPN are likely. DAZN doesn't even seem to be investing in US boxing like THAT with Eddie as their head guy. Eddie being their head guy is problematic for ODLH so it'd be a problem for an even bigger player than ODLH arriving on the scene. I also don't see ESPN being in play unless they get rid of TR cuz their are whispers TR might not get reupped with ESPN in 2025. Not to mention ESPN might be sold like Showtime was so who knows what that might bring. I think its more likely Amazon Prime, Netflix (altho they haven't seemed interested in live sports thus far), Apple TV or some other big streaming platform get into boxing.

So its not entirely unexpected. Showtime is kinda just a name with some value right now. It'll fade into Paramount over another year or two I'd imagine before there isn't any talk of Showtime anymore.

My thing is certain folks are still hoping that showtime goes belly up and Pbc is forced to give all their fighters to dazn and Eddie Hearn is going to takeover boxing. Uh NOT! I have no idea if Paramount is going to keep boxing but what I do know is that Al controls about 90% of American boxing and with the success that Pbc has had this year it won't be hard for him to find a new home. Maybe amazon but definitely not dazn
All the rest of what you are saying is the standard drama sh^t I'm not into. I'd hate to see any boxing platform go away so I'm not into all this Al vs Eddie vs Bob sh^t as much others when someone is getting out of the sport. I wasn't a fan of what HBO had become when they left, but that still ******. I'm not a huge fan of DAZN & think they are sh^t for all US fans not interested in UK boxing as hard as US boxing, but it'd suck to see them go too. But yea OBVIOUSLY the Showtime roster will find a new home SOMEWHERE.

Three $20 million gates this year.
And the UFC has never achieved that even once in their entire history. Suck on that, Dana White.
