As one of boxing’s biggest drawing cards and stars, Davis isn’t likely to be “ordered” to do anything he doesn’t actually want to do, but for kicks, the WBA’s current top five contenders at 135 are Isaac Cruz, William Zepeda, Frank Martin, Vasiliy Lomachenko, and Floyd Schofield.

You can count Golden Boy prospect Schofield out — it would be a hideous and reckless managerial decision for his side — and probably but not definitely Lomachenko, whose main mission now is big fights, and this would be the biggest he can do.

That would leave Cruz or Martin, who are with Premier Boxing Champions like Davis, and Golden Boy’s Zepeda. Cruz has wanted a Davis rematch for years at this point, but Martin seems the most likely bet, as he recently passed on an order to face Shakur Stevenson for the vacant WBC title, leading many to believe he has a deal to face Tank in the bag, basically.

martin disrespected shakur and his team first by appearing to accept the fight and then backing out at the last minute. martin wasted shakur's time. Time is money. LOL martin is a clown.

So it's beyond redundant to imply someone is "white hispanic" when it's quite self-evident that there is "White" in and around "Hispanic people" by the mere utterance of the word Hispanic.

Whether Martin ducked the fight with Shakur or not is irrelevant. Color is irrelevant in this equation as well. Stevenson should have called Martin directly and told him how he felt. Going on public media to put down Martin is very immature. Stevenson is a young kid who has some growing up to do. I feel like if you aren't man enough to say the disrespectful things he said about Martin directly to his face then he has no business saying it online. Stevenson in my mind would have beaten Martin because he is an elite fighter. His immaturity makes him look very very bad as a person and as a fighter.

...both loose with this **** show. Martin ducked and Shakur still acts like a 15 year old. No amount of skill can compensate for what came out of Stevenson's mouth. Shakur is messing with his own $ by not thinking before he speaks in public. Guys like Ryan Garcia will always make more $ with minimal skills and loses on their record. Learn the business kids..or stop looking for that Floyd/Canelo type of $.
