If he was like 32 I would say lose some weight, get a new trainer and reinvent yourself. But at 38, and very far away from a title shot, he should probably just retire. He is pretty much going to be a Chisora type gatekeeper if he keeps going. No sense in becoming that.

bro youre 38 there is no time for all this "rebuild" chit. you got knocked out twice in a row and by the time you get some confidence booster scrub wins in there you would be 40 the next time you fight a decent name. If you are slow as hell at 38 you are going to be just as slow at 40

This rematch was a huge error. Joyce was much worse this time and Zhang was confident and sharp.
It's a pity but I don't see Joyce going fighting again.

Roy Jones, one of the greatest boxers of our generation certainly had the fire at 49 years of age and was getting knocked out by guys that couldn’t carry his jockstrap in his prime.
You still think he should have fought on?

Look at Zhang's record after 28 fights. Joyce is literally the only good win on it

Hes old and those were bad losses, but I still think he beats several of the current top 10. Zhang was just a nasty stylistic match up, a hard hitting southpaw who is even bigger and stronger than Joyce.
Also being a UK fighter theres decent semi big domestic fight options for him like Whyte, Del Boy, a Dubois rematch etc.
