Comments Thread For: Roach: This Version Of Canelo Will Not Be Able To Handle Charlo; I'm Picking Charlo By Stoppage

One of the most accomplished trainers in boxing history doesn't just think Jermell Charlo will upset Canelo Alvarez on September 30. Freddie Roach predicted that Charlo will become the first fighter in 64 professional fights to beat Alvarez by knockout.

Roach knows boxing but he is wrong on this. If KO will be by Canelo.

Listening to Roach you would've thought Canelo was the one moving up in weight. This fight is probably going to go like the Danny Jacobs fight with Canelo at best for Charlo...

Roach might be hating like DLH. Charlo makes too many defensive mistakes in the ring. I just don't see Charlo holding up from the multiple times that Canelo is going to make him pay because of these mistakes.

Charlo has the better skills but Alvared should be able to take his punch because he's fought up to lite heavy. the question is will Alvared mentally quit if things aren't going his way. He has a habit of doing that when he starts getting hit. This is going to be a great fight no matter the out come. I'm rollin with Charlo by decision

If Nelo wins it's a good win. People predicting charlo to win, so he must be good.

You may want to actually read the article. He states that he’d have picked the version of Canelo that those guys faced to win, but doesn’t believe this current version of Canelo is the same guy. Pretty obvious Canelo has slipped. What you’re saying is equivalent to someone wondering how Leonard couldn’t be stopped by Hearns, Duran or Hagler, but was stopped by Camacho.

Styles makes fights. GGG hits hard but can be defensive after giving opponents too much respect. Kovalev didn't even try... Bivol hasn't had a stoppage in yonks and usually wins by landslide decisions. Charlo won't back down and will swing it out with Canelo - there's every chance Canelo gets caught with something and either gets hurt significantly or KO'd (and vice versa). This fight aint going the distance.
