Yes he turned pro at 15, but it's going to take someone a lot better than Jermell Charlo to beat him.

When you've been fighting at Championship level since your late teens/early 20's the chances are you will have a lot of miles on the clock by age 33.

Usually works that way any way.
      Absolutely!

He has almost 70 pro fights . Been fighting world class opponents since he was 21 . He is not a fresh 33. But I think his style ages well a slow methodical counter puncher he doesn’t rely on quick feet or hands . Sets guys up and uses his anticipation of what’s going to happen instead of reaction time .
he is good at punching where you are gonna be instead of where you are .
Charlo is a damn good boxer with good power he has a chance but I think Canelo finds him like in the BJ Saunders fight .

If he loses to Charlo, he should retire. Again, Charlo is coming 2 divisions up.

Ryder is a legit 168 guy, GGG was old legit 160 guy, coming one division up, Bivol is a top 175 guy.

If Canelo loses or struggles with 154 guy, than we must accept that he is totally shot and should retire.

Canelo has been a pro since 15. he has about 70 fights. he is not very fresh, for sure.

He started boxing very young and has been practically fighting for more than half of his life, so it isn't impossible to start fading in performance at a younger age, considering the number of his fights. One or two more and we'll have the answer to that, as the Bivol fight can't really tell the answer - Bivol is just bigger, stronger and better than him.

He's on the decline, but he sure as hell isn't too old. He skipped the rigors of amateurs by starting professionally and doesn't rely on his foot speed.
Let's see how he looks at 35-36 - if he's even active by then.
