Comments Thread For: De La Hoya on Canelo-Charlo: Canelo Is Gonna Have Trouble With Any Style Similar to Bivol

Oscar De La Hoya has offered a word of advice to Jermell Charlo ahead of his big bout with Canelo Alvarez. Take a hard look at the Dmitry Bivol template. Bivol, the WBA light heavyweight titlist, upset oddsmakers last year, when he unanimously outpointed Alvarez, the

Charlo doesn’t really fight like Bivol, though.

Plus he says he has been putting on weight and muscle for this fight. Which won’t make him more mobile.

Dumb comment by the coke sniffer. Jermell fights nothing like Bivol nor does he have his boxing IQ.

Most people have trouble with Bivol's skill and style. There's about 3 people in the world that can match his skill set. DLH has turned into a hater of the worst kind.

It’s sad to watch the rot that Oscar’s become. He was a great talent as a fighter but a miserable figurehead as a promoter. Sadly, he’s been reduced to a laughingstock — jilted by, and painfully jealous of Canelo who eclipsed him as a boxer (and as a golfer!)

Oscar never misses an opportunity to try to put Canelo down.

              Bivol beats them all.

De la Hoya just outlined in his line of thinking, why he kept Canelo from Benavidez, Charlo, and Andrade for so many years, which was obvious anyway. And he may be right, but Charlo is definitely not like Bivol. if Charlo slows down, Canelo will punch him in the mouth just like he did to Plant

i think jermell will do a lot better than people think, canelo could be done (not that he was ever that great in the first place)

                    Two completely different styles lol

For one, Bivol stays technical the entire fight, and Charlo overextends when he throws a 1-2, which makes him square up sometimes

Bivol also mastered the art of punching the opponent when the opponent is resetting their offense. Charlo isn't fluid like that

In conclusion, Oscar is just a hater
