So who's better than Zepeda at 135 outside of the top 3 (Devin, Tank, Shakur)? I get the Loma argument if you say him, but to me he's old & not the same guy he used to be. He's holding his spot but hes ripe to lose to guys on the rise imho. Outside of Loma there isn't anyone doing what he's doing vs guys he & the other guys are still fighting. There's levels everywhere & Zepeda seems like the clear #1 guy at the 2nd tier at 135.
Again I ain't saying this guy does ANYTHING vs the top 3, but of what I've seen of the non-top 3 guys he's the best bet by a solid margin.Comment

I'm not projecting anything. Except he might win 2 or more rds vs Shakur lol.

Raymond Muratalla, Keyshawn Davis and Edwin De Los Santos are three guys I'm not certain Zepeda beats. No one knows at this point. He's just as much of an unknown quantity as the three guys I named. Zepeda would struggle to win more than a round or two against Shakur. Trust me.
Keyshawn is hilarious as an example cuz you are critical of Zepeda for not fighting anyone & Keyshawn has fought guys beneath the level of "not fighting anyone". He's got so much sidekick energy I think he's gonna be a guy that'll fall off at a lower level than most ppl expect him to. Like I think its possible he doesn't even get a belt fight, which I think all these other guys find themselves in sooner or later regardless of how it goes. He wouldn't know wtf to do with a guy doing as much as Zepeda.
Muratalla is a fair guy to bring up. He's up there with Zepeda for sure & I wouldn't argue if someone had him higher than Zepeda. This would be a really good 2nd tier 135lb guy fight.Comment

EDLS lost to William Foster III, who I am a fan of too, already. He's got lil to no chance vs a guy like Shakur & only gots a punchers chance vs Devin, altho vs Devin thats very live, & Tank night night's him. He's the most known of the guys we are talking about & he's just not THAT guy. It'd be a fun fight, but Zepeda beats him.

ODLH gots these guys on lockdown more so then a normal US promoter I feel like outside of Ryan, but I kinda think Ryan losing has tightened him up on that. Fighters need promoters on board to do any of this cross promotion sh^t so if Oscar ain't down it ain't happening regardless of what Zepeda wants & as with most fighters I'm sure he'd love a Shakur fight.
EDLS gots nice power so hes live vs anyone to some degree but I think the consensus & odds would heavily lean Zepeda's way.Comment

Calling for cross promotion fights as a guy not even fighting in main events is pissing in the wind. And Keyshawn 100% knows that. If hes calling out unlikely to happen fights he should be calling out Andy Cruz to redeem his amateur L's cuz Eddie is more inclined to do cross promotion fights being that UK guys aren't as against it as US guys.

I have no clue why these guys sign with promoters who have no top talent in their weight class. This is why Prograis signing with Eddie makes zero sense. Zero sense.Comment

Idk man. I always got a take on a guy from fight 1 til their last night. Granted its always evolving as I see & learn more about a guy. And it might change on a dime sometimes since boxing is a brutal & conclusive victory type of game, but usually guys stay within a healthy range of your expectations of them I feel like.
Regis needs to fire himself as his manager cuz he's fooking up his career with the Eddie move & he did so with his 3yrs in limbo when he lost closely to the #1 guy & was the #2 guy in the division & did nothing for years til he got the "other Zepeda" fight.Comment

We shall soon see. Hopefully. In the 1980s, we never waited forever for the best to fight the best. Sanchez vs. Gomez, Pryor vs. Arguello, Hagler vs. Hearns, McCallum vs. Curry. Zepeda is 27 and has 29 fights. He's well past the prospect stage. Time to take the diaper off and let 'em hang. If Fishnets can't get him better than Mercito Gesta, maybe it's time to walk. Don't wind up like Demetrius Andrade -- 35 and no signature victories.Comment
