Was there even any tv ratings released for the Frank Martin vs Artem Harutyunyan fight?
    I don't remember any.

    Anything similar like this?

Stevenson-Conceicao Fight Averaged 1,097,000 Viewers On ESPN, Peaked At 1,150,000
Shakur Stevenson helped draw over a million viewers on ESPN in a third straight fight late Friday night. Nielsen Media Research released figures that estimated an average of 1,097,000 viewers watched Stevenson’s 12-round, unanimous-decision defeat of Robson Conceicao in ESPN’s main event from Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey,

I'm tired of the "I'm the A side, you're the B side" talk. Sometimes in order to sign on the dotted line the money has to make sense. Stevenson basically wanted Martin to fight for nothing.

After sanctioning fees, paying your team, and paying your taxes, fighters are left with 25% of the offer.

None on these top ranked fighters should be fighting for peanuts.

I see one of the reasons Martin backed out now.

Shame on Shakur. He cost the fans a good fight, and a chance for one of these fighter's stock to grow.

      I'm tired of this crap!!!!
But wasn't terms agreed to prior which is how they avoided the purse bid? If your promotor isn't the lead promotor and the opponent is also more accomplished and is with the lead promotor, what is the expectation?

I agree with all fighters getting paid but I think the issue here is the agreement that prevented a purse bid.

Also, I'm of the mind that Frank's team did the right thing. Clearly it's high risk/ low reward versus Shakur. Better off pulling a Mikey when he sacrificed himself to Spence for the most money instead of fighting Loma.

        I don't even know what 50./50 means.
ESPN has been producing non-PPV fights for a while now.
If this is on Showtime, you bet it will be on PPV. $60 - $70 a pop.

Frank said he would fake 25 percent to fight Haney and was bashing Shakur for it. 60/ 40 sounds reasonable. No one know Martin other than Spence.
This is Spence and Crawford all over again, though Martin is not on Spence level.

Shakur is not exactly a ticket seller but giving frank martin 50% split is just absurd. It almost looks like 'the ghost' pricing himself out.

I agree that 50 for frank is a bit silly, but I've seen nothing saying Shakurs split. Maybe frank wanted to start at 50 and end up with 40 but wasnt going to get it

Ok I read the article(beer edit) ya a 50 split no negotiations is nonsense from Martin. No belts, no Olympics, no fans, probably not much of a chance either.

I'm more interested in seeing Frank Martin vs Edwin Delos Santos. These 2 are about the same level all around.

Let's just hope this fight happens next, instead.
That fight is not going to happen. Frank already avoided De Los Santos this year.
Edwin was available for Frank for almost a year, yet Martin's team would rather
scour the globe and look for this guy named Harutyunyan, who nobody knew existed.

60/40 split wouldve been ok imo. But Martin hasn't done sh.it in his career to be worth 50/50 at this point vs Shakur who's won legit titles in what 2 or 3 divisions?!
I'm Team Shakur all the way. I think he would've destroyed Martin. I do not believe the split should've been 50/50 either.

But I'm hearing Martin was being offered something like 17%. How can you expect someone who is contending to except that low ball offer?

It’s not my career but damn Shakur should have swallowed his pride and made the fight on the 50-50 split. You get a solid win and a belt. Now he’s back with no opponent.
