Comments Thread For: Crowley-Essuman: Queensberry Promotions ($63,000) Secures Rights To IBF Title Eliminator

Frank Warren didn't have to flip over too many couch cushions to secure the funding for his latest purse bid haul. The Hall of Fame promoter's Queensberry Promotions submitted $63,000 as the lone bidder during Tuesday's hearing for the Cody Crowley Ekow Essuman IBF welterweight title eliminator. The ordered fight between the pair of unbeaten contenders will determine the mandatory title challenger for the sanctioning body's welterweight title.

Why even bother fighting for a % of $63K? What is it, a 70/30 split? Probably not worth the money and time invested, never mind the health risk.

63k for a title eliminator at WW? Sorry but that's insulting and I'm not even the one fighting.

The two fighters will more than likely see under $10k after paying their manager/agent, promoter fees, corner, maybe network fee? And lastly, taxes. And depending on who pays for flight and room/board for the fighters and their team, that’s yet another expense. If they see $5k, they will be lucky.

It’s take 30+k now. Possibly have a decent money fight next. It isn’t really enough to be fair. I wish they could at least be able to split 100-200k between them.

Essuman probably get around 20 grand. He probably was getting that to defend his British title but for a world title eliminator it's pretty low. 40-50k should of been about right

At that sum of money, this fight probably isn't happening. Why didn't PBC island make a bid?

Didn't Warren pull a similar stunt with Andrade Vs Parker purse bids? I'm imagining he's hoping for a similar outcome with Crowley pulling out.
