Larry, I think Cotto is being disrespected cause he's washed up, he's damaged goods, he's underdog against a former Featherweight, and he just doesn't have the 'firepower' to beat a fighter like Manny Pacquiao anymore.

Arum is setting Cotto up, he knows he will lose badly. Why you think you never read articles about Arum talking about Cotto vs Mayweather?

All you read is Arum talking about Pacquiao getting the bigger share against Mayweather.

Arum knows what's up. He's doing this cause of Cotto threatening to leave Top Rank in the beggining of the year after Cotto was disgusted of Arum defending Margarito and Cotto let the news know that he didn't like what Arum was doing and that he might be leaving Top Rank when his contract expires.

Enter Pacquiao. Arum says "okay you wanna leave? i want you to meet my Filipino friend, Manny Pacquiao on November 14th". Now Cotto signed another contract with Arum cause Arum set him for a big money fight, but also a loss that will end Cotto's relevancy.

Some people just don't like him. Everybody is entitled to an opinion. I don't like margo. And I'm done bashing him. i have been doing it too much here and i know i gotta let it go. But that's an example of why some people don't like him. Maybe he beat their fav boxer, or think the win was fixed and unjust, like so many Clottey fans.

I guess it's like music, some people really dislike or hate a certain kind of music. Same with boxers, i don't know. Also some claim dirty tactics, headbutting, lowblowing, hitting on the back of the head, roids, gloves...lots of reasons...take your pic....lol.

It's probably cuz in Cotto's last 3 fights, he's only looked good in one of them...whereas Pacman's completely rolled through his latest competition. I think there's a good chance of Cotto taking this, but from what i understand that would be why so many people are picking Pac in this.

My guess is this..there are over 90 million Filipinos while only about 8 million Puerto Ricans.
Most fans go with their country, so the numbers are on Pacquiao's side.
Not to mention that casual fans out number Fans who really know boxing maybe about 20 to 1. Pac beat Hatton (a white fighter) and of course the Golden boy which is probably as well known as Mike Tyson to the casual fan.
Hence PAC POPULARITY.
All the polls I have seen on the boxing sites(including boxingscene) most have leaned to Cotto. While HBO and sites where other than boxing fans go, lean towards Pacquiao.
