I'd like to respectfully introduce you to a concept called "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts". In business, this is referred as synergistic revenue generation.

For example, prior to The World Awaits, Oscar's biggest PPV was the 1.3 million he did with Trinidad. Floyd's biggest PPV was the 400K that he did with JUdah, and was actually coming off his low numbers of 330K with Baldomir in the 'Pretty Risky' fight.

Now, if you triangulated those numbers, you would have come up with something in the range of 1.4 to 1.6 mil, assuming some overlap of the hardcore fan.

Nobody was projecting 2.4 mil.

Whoaaa...Baldomir a risky fight huh?? Wowsers...and he fought Zab before he fought Baldomir, so in reality his buys went down technically speaking. But that's besides the point...

Nobody can project truthfully what a PPV will do. Though I do agree you can't compare previous fights to what one particular fight will do, you have to also look at the state of Boxing right now and how many people are still buying Boxing PPVs on a consistent basis. GBP did one hell of a job putting Marquez vs Mayweather together and it pulled just 1 Million buys. If you want to get technical, Floyd's PPV buys have gone down in his last 2 fights since the Oscar fight.

3 Mill buys IMO is pushing it.

1) "Pretty Risky" was the OFFICIAL name of the Baldomir fight. What is the "wowsers" about?

2) I clearly stated in my post that FMJ was coming off the low of 330K with Baldomir. Please re-read that.

If the build-up is what I expect it to be.. then hell yes. If Floyd Mayweather can put 1 million viewers up for a fight against JMM, then I could definitely see a Pacquiao fight doing some crazy numbers.

I will go on the line and say that it's a GUARANTEED 2 million PPV buys kind of fight.
