I think that people - fans - are excited about the prospect of the huge, massive mega-event. I don't think Mike marley, kevin Iole, Dana White, etc are all making excuses in advance for Floyd not to fight Shane.

We are just amped to see the two most popular and dynamic fighters face each other.

    What's with the profanity?
Profanity is directed at "Boxing fans" who justify a fighter ducking great fights due to "business reasons", like they get a cent out of it, its sickening. Floyd is one of the most talented fighters AT and yet ppl approve his p4p status not taking true risks, its BS.

Now, if Pac beats Cotto, he has every right to fight for his p4p status, but right now, Oscar put him down as #2 WW and Mosley #1 WW, real boxing fans wanna see that fight and see Floyd take a real risk fighting Mosley.
But you also have to respect Floyd's ambitions. And if not "respect", then at least "recognize". Or "acknowledge".

Do you think he came back with the intentions to become the best welterweight... or to reclaim his p4p and make a buttload of money?

Let him do that. If, at this time next year, Floyd is talking about fighting Urango, then you have every reason to blast away.

I wanna see Floyd vs Mosley... trust me, I would like to see Floyd vs Cotto too... as a Boxing fan I would love to see those fights, but truth is... Pacquiao vs Mayweather is the biggest and best fight out there... you can't say that real Boxing fans would rather see Mosley cause that isn't true... most people are talking about Pacquiao... I would love to see him fight Shane, but this kinda fight is bigger. Unless Floyd fought Shane in say January and then the winner fights Pacquiao in July or something, might be hard to negotiate though.

If Floyd vs Manny happens, its a huge fight... its giving the Boxing fans what they wanna see... more fans will be into it and if more fans are into the sport we will see more of the best fights out there happen cause they will want to keep those big fan bases cause without them they wont earn money. Sorry, I would love to see Floyd fight Cotto and/or Mosley... they would be great fights to see, but Manny vs Floyd is the biggest out there at the moment... and is the one that the public want to see more.

Well, please allow ME be clear. My expectation is that Floyd will fight Pacquiao if he wins, OR either Cotto or Shane if Cotto wins.

                Period.

Your saying "business reasons" shouldn't be an excuse to duck the best fights and I get what you are saying... but regardless... Manny vs Floyd IS the best fight out there.

I respect and recognize he's a great fighter, as a boxing fan and not a Floyd fan I wanna see great fights like when he fought Castillo and when he wooped Corrales (RIP), not LWs, Jr WWs (him been a WW) who dont belong in the ring with him. I do think he's a greedy mofo, that's why I dont support him and not willing to pay cent to watch him fight until he takes on top fighters who have a chance in there with him.
