So based on this article, you believe Pac vs Floyd will do 3 Mill PPV buys?

    If so, explain how
Success breeds success. I think that RIGHT NOW, Floyd has more exposure than he has ever had. Floyd has done DWTS, WWE, commercials, MTV Cribs, etc. Pac has done movies back home, is adored throughout Asia, and is remembered well for the Hatton bout.

It's almost like two titans coming together...

They have fought and beat common opponents.
-hatton beat Oscar and hatton better
    -Floyd beat Marquez better

They are fighting within a few pounds of each other
-Floyd was 146 in his last bout
-Pac is 145 in his next bout

Neither has a fight planned for 2010. Cinco de mayo would be perfect

Floyd was just on Men's Fitness
    Pac is in ESPN magazine

Floyd just had a huge selling fight
pac will have a huge selling fight (fingers crossed)

    They are both considered "prime"

It brings together the two biggest and best promoters

They both fight on the biggest and best network (unlike Tyson/Lewis)

The media is ALREADY behind this fight.

Pacquiao would (presumably) be bringing a WW belt with him

This would have a kick-ass 24/7 and other promotions.

Even Dana White said that "Mayweather-Pacquiao is the fight the public wants".

Floyd can do a million by himself. Pacquiao can do high six figures. The two combined will then galvanize the non-boxing public. It becomes more than a fight. It is "an event"

It draws in every possible demographic. The latin fans who know both participants, the Asian fans, the black community, the corporate crowd, etc

it happens at a historic, prestige weight division: WELTERWEIGHT

In every possible way, this is just a huge, huge bout.

I'm interested in your agreement or dissent with these points. Thanks.

        Thanks a lot!

If i had any video skills, I would make a highlight reel of Pac knocking out hatton..cut to Floyd Ko'ing hatton...music builds... Pac raining on Oscar... Floyd knocking Oscar back at the end of the round.... Pac mauling Morales... Floyd dropping Corrales with the left hook...cut to asian drummers.... dramatic music ... cut to pac shadowboxing...music faster now...Floyd on the pads.... fighters come together face to face...FINALLY!

man, that would be a hot promo.

If you asked me a year ago, i would sy no way Pac beats Miguel. but i think Roach is right. Cotto is a little worn.

Cotto may still win, based on size and if he is able to fight an aggressive, contained style.

I don't trust Miguel's corner (who is his trainer?) and he isn't the smartest when he gets buzzed.

            I think Pac/Floyd is a bigger/better fight than Migs/Floyd.

Sounds like a perfect excuse not to fight Mosley or Cotto (if he beats Pac), if it makes dollars it makes sense right???? ****** arguments make me sick, "boxing fans" who justify his business are **** suckers, not suck ups.

Like somebody else said, Manny has to get through Cotto first... who is a great fighter in his own right... and does stand a good chance of winning. But if Manny does beat Cotto, then I agree... it would be possible to hit 3 million, I mean it isn't impossible when you think about it.

Fights getting that much attention is a good thing... it would be good for Boxing, the reason it would hit the most PPV buys out there is because its the main fight most Boxing fans want to see... its the biggest fight out there, it would give the sport LOADS of attention because everyone wants to see it.

Giving the fans the best fights and the fights they want to see is good for the sport, it will gain more respect and make Boxing bigger... and think about it, if the sport gets bigger and more popular then there is a great chance fights get so much attention that they generate enough money for them not to be on PPV, meaning we can watch the sport we love while not having to pay.

                    Calmate, mijo.

I think that people - fans - are excited about the prospect of the huge, massive mega-event. I don't think Mike marley, kevin Iole, Dana White, etc are all making excuses in advance for Floyd not to fight Shane.

We are just amped to see the two most popular and dynamic fighters face each other.

                    What's with the profanity?

I do agree with your statement but understand we are not casual boxing fans who only know Pac and Mayweather, we do know Cotto and Mosley can put a hurt on Floyd and possibly beat him, they could present a tougher test than Pac possibly could. Now, if Pac beats Cotto, he has every right to fight for his p4p status, but right now, Oscar put him down as #2 WW and Mosley #1 WW, real boxing fans wanna see that fight and see Floyd take a real risk fighting Mosley.
