  • Comments Thread For: Tyson Fury Promoter Arum Says Ngannou Presents 'Same Type of Danger' as Wilder

Promoter Bob Arum, no stranger to ballyhoo, apparently thinks highly of the punching power of Francis Ngannou. Arum's client, Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight titlist, will take on Ngannou in a heavyweight extravaganza (and Ngannou's boxing debut) on Oct. 28 in Saudi Arabia. The press conference for the crossover bout took place earlier this week in London.

What a Joke to compare a MMGay fighter to K.O. artist Deontay Wilder.

Wilder may not be the sleekest boxer out there but when he connects it is lights out. He knocked down Fury 6 times in 3 fights. The only other person to knock Fury down was Cunningham. That speaks volumes IMO

No he didn't knock him down 6 times what!? also Cunningham isn't the only other one to knock him down Pajkic did years before Cunningham.

The only thing it speaks to is Wilders power is overrated, two guys who can't punch put Fury over yet the alleged biggest puncher in history can't put him down and out...

He just confirmed what I've been saying about this HW era. Lots of options nowadays for kids that size.

Aside from Fury who has proven he can beat Wilder , Wilder sparks all the rest .Bob is just trying to help promote this as part of the Fury setup. The only truth attached to this is IF Fury is not taking this seriously enough and is out of shape. People give Wilder stick for his lack of boxing skills BUT he's been skilful enough to put ALL of his opponents on the deck , it's only Fury who got up to win.

What opponent would Joshua not be able to deck on Wilder's resume?

Fury has been decked by USS Cunningham who was not a powerful puncher even at cruiser weight.

If Joshua from the start of his career was matched up against all of the fighters on Wilder's resume 'Joshua has the ability to deck most of them, even Fury'.

Joshua is still eventually blasted out Helenius, just like Deontay Wilder.

Making the statement that 'Wilder sparks all the rest mate, is meaningless'.

But I do understand this is how hardcore Fury fans operate and like to build a fighters reputation 'Wilder sparks all the rest, is not a factual statement. It never happened, Wilder has not achieved those feats'.

I personally rate Deontay Wilder extremely highly, but? He has not proven unequivocally that he is the best of all the Heavyweights outside of Fury 'Wilder is a top-4 Heavyweight'.

It is still not clear who out of the top-4 is the absolute best. Style's make fights, and Fury really if people are honest? Is not as experienced as Joshua or Usyk at fighting at World or Elite level skill for skill 'Usyk at cruiser weight was contently fighting at World and elite level skill for skill, before he entered into the Heavyweight division'.

                    Who's Fury's next fight against, a top - 10 Heavyweight? No.

Who was Fury's last Heavyweight fight against? Dillian Whyte, a Heavyweight was ****** out by Joshua when he could actually move inside the boxing ring 'And who was also ****** out by Povetkin, Whyte was barely World level by the time he got his title fight with Fury'.

Tyson Fury does have two mega wins on his resume historically, but outside of that 'He has fought a bunch of domestic to high end European level fighters'.

Note: Right now as we speak mate, most of Fury's current reputation is built up off beating Deontay Wilder 'Fury's reputation is not really built up off beating Kiltschko. Because that win was not really brutal or conclusive'.

Fury's legacy sky rocketed after beating Deontay Wilder 'This is when his career transcended to another level.

So I understand why all of a sudden, Fury's hardcore fans back Wilder. But at the same time, I know that you are all apprehensive of Wilder fighting Joshua 'And Joshua beating Wilder'.

Joshua already has a better win over Kiltschkko than Fury 'Wladimir Kiltschko vs Anthony Joshua is the greatest Heavyweight title fight of the past 25 years'.

I have actually theorized that there is a possibility that both Wilder and Fury have acted like a smoke screen for each other 'Fury on the real, the last time he actually fought a elite level fighter skill for skill was 7-8 years ago vs Kiltschko. That Fury was 246-248 pounds, and was training under Peter Fury'.

Wilder was a elite level challenge, and fight 'But skill for skill no boxing purist would rate Wilder technically in terms of boxing skill as a elite level fighter'.

In comparison we all know Joshua's level 'Joshua competed over 24 rounds vs Usyk, two back to back fights and made both fights competitive. Joshua's boxing ability is proven, he is a capable boxer'.

When it comes to Tyson Fury, yes he may have two mega wins on his resume 'It terms of historical magnitude'. But it is unclear whether currently right now, he is actually still able to compete at elite level skill for skill within the Heavyweight division.

Fury's last two fights, do not prove this 'And his next fight, will also not prove this' etc.
