Calling it Now: Frank Martin vs Tank Davis in December

Maybe but would they really care about keeping Martin in-house?
Just speculating here. But when DAZN made that offer to Wilder, Showtime paid over the odds to show Wilder-Breazeale. Could be a ****-blocking ploy here.
Obviously Martin is not Wilder though and the $$ Haymon/Showtime would put up for him would be a lot less. But it's probably more than Arum was offering.
I rate Frank, talented fighter, but aside from the hardcore fans like ourselves, nobody has heard of him.

You dont know about boxing. It makes more sense then that trash ass Pitbull rematch.
And they could make Pitbull vs someone with a name as the comain to lead into fighting Tank next time around as for me & I think most fans Pitbull hasn't even earned a rematch yet. Let him fight someone real to earn a rematch cuz the first fight wasn't THAT close to me & Tank had an injury. A 100% Tank is gonna win even easier.
But yea if there wasn't a $$$ issue/rematch details issue/options issue in this Shakur fight my assumption would be they are making a fight with Tank for more money.
Rounds before the lame excuse of Tank, were the same that the other rounds next to the "injury".
Most of punches of Davis were blocked by the guard of Cruz. David and his trainer say Cruz was a beast
stats shows the fight was a draw.

LOL, Cranks team isn’t going to fight Martin. They’re looking for a sure thing. Too much of a risk.I seriously doubt Martin's team would duck this blatantly. They could've claimed injury or even a "failed" drug test. But, they must've been offered a better deal to fight Tank. Plus, Martin has been calling for the Tank fight since they sparred a few years back. If he doesn't fight Tank, this is a DUCK.Comment

Probably a dumb move for EDLS to turn down a Shakur fight for a Pitfull fight with only a chance for a Tank fight. I love the thought of a Pitbull vs EDLS fight tho. Would be an interesting fight.Comment

Tank's going to be elevated to WBA Super with a rematch with Pitbull Cruz, IBF most likely Loma-Kambo, WBC with Shakur vs TBA and that just leaves the WBO.
If I were advising Martin, I'd tell him to take a gamble and go the WBO route. It's the easiest path to a title, depending on what Loma decides to do.Last edited by HandsofIron; 09-11-2023, 10:44 PM.Comment
