    Props to Pernell Whitaker

I had forgotten how sweet the 'sweet pea' actually was. I just watched a short biography of his dealings in the ring.

Offensively, he was lightning fast and accurate. Defensively, he was simply amazing.

    One great fighter!

And those early blemishes on his record are pure bullsheet.

R.I.P. Pernell Whitaker, thank you for your sharing your pugilistic brilliance with the world.

He was a great fighter, even when he was old. A healthy. young Pernell would whip any of todays fighters in his weight class.

How he end up dieing the way he did is crazy! I don't believe the driver who hit him was ever charged.

        Lightweights, I agree.

Todays fighters are a different breed, not the same as Pernell.

He'd spit shine their noses and then break those noses.

Imagine a Pernell with todays fitness and training advantages..................Rockin'

Trinidad couldn't even stop a over the hill Whitaker. Matter of fact Pernell had Tito hurt in the 6th or 8th round.

Great fighter and he had a fighter attitude despite his great defense. He always wanted to fight the top fighters.

Crawford may be topflight today, but I don't see anything really special in his fighting. Not when compared to Pernell Whitaker. Pernell out boxes him all day....................Rockin'

It could easily be argued that Trinidad was his first real professional loss.
