  • Comments Thread For: Kenny Porter Doesn't Envision Terence Crawford Losing For The Remainder Of His Career

Kenny Porter always knew how great Terence "Bud" Crawford was. As an amateur, the longtime trainer worked with the pound-for-pound star when he was a youthful, raw, and somewhat hard-headed young man. The skills Crawford displayed as an amateur opened Porter's eyes. As a pro, Crawford's greatness has gone to another level.

Betting money is on Crawford. If he fights until too old and just happens to get caught are possibilities. Sometimes a fighter has your number.

If that Canelo fight happens idk about that. Bud going up another 21lbs is a big ask.

And I still think Boots was/is the best guy at 147. I think if Boots had fought the Errol Bud fought its Boots KO3 not no prolonged fight. Boots vs Bud probably not an ez win for either & certainly not a for sure W for Bud.

Sheeeeet idek if Mell is a for sure W, but I'd favor Bud ig there I think.

I agree with you on that. If Crawford wanted to test himself, he would fight Boots. Then we would see if he retires as an undefeated fighter. At some point age takes over. If Crawford picks his opponents carefully then YES he can retire undefeated. After his fight with Spence, people make Bud out to be King Kong. He is definitely the best pound for pound fighter today and deserves his accolades. However, he can be beat.

Canelo too big--Bud can't stop him but maybe decision. Or maybe fight doesn't get made.

Wow Kenny! You sure did change your tune! For the last 3 fights he’s picked against Bud, now he’s a sack ryder!

Yep & ANYONE can be beat. Bud, Boots, Monster, Fury, Usyk, Tank, Shakur, etc & so on. Some people get too crazy about boxers after wins & losses lol. Too often the winner of a big fight is Unbeatable/The Man & the loser is Exposed/A Bum lol. There is a much wider grey area guys reside in with this winning & losing stuff esp at the tip top level 99% of the guys we talk about are on.

                Can't argue with that assessment.

I posted this a while back on one of Bread's mail bags before the Spence fight went down, so I'll reiterate - nobody beats Crawford at 147.

The higher in weight Bud goes up, the higher the chances of him losing, especially to someone like a prime Charlo at 154.

What was left out of this article is that he’s sort of saying we even haven’t seen bud have to turn it all the way up yet. Folks want to say “can’t go based off one fight” well you can, when you put a guy in against his greatest challenge and he doesn’t even leave second gear and wins by landslide, yeah, one can base a lot off that. That’s the part folks are ignoring, Crawford has yet to fully show us what he’s capable of because even Spence didn’t require him going to the well for.

Rematch with Spence would have to take place first before going as far ahead as KPorter is futurizing here.
Would Haymon/PBC even consider making the Canelo vs Crawford fight or would rather offer Canelo's
remaining fights to his more loyal fighters like Benavidez and Charlo2?
