I think of guys who can stick & move when outboxer comes to mind.

Bivol is the #1 pure outboxer today. Usyk

Erislandy Lara is another outboxer example. So was Chris Algieri

Floyd was part outboxer. He had the greatest jab downstairs of all time and could get on his bike

Adrien couldn’t fight like Floyd despite copying him and having a lesser shoulder roll

upon moving up in weight Adrien’s depend on being the bigger man style didn’t work as well

boil himself down and be a weight bully against smaller fighters and even there he still struggled. he lost to ponce de leon. broner was pure hype manufactured by the media machine. Even in some alternate universe where broner is not a moron and is fully dedicated to boxing he still is not great or even good.

Even at his best he had slow feet. If you go way back to the BS archives when Broner was fighting Gavin Rees and thereabouts posters here were calling Broner out for trying to emulate Floyd's style but with plodding feet.

            People don't say out-boxer anymore. That's from the 40's. It's boxer now.

His style was trying his best to be a carbon copy of Mayweather.

Ended up just being just a very poor verison of James Toney.

Yes, he took the worst aspects of Floyd and ran with it. Adrien to me? Fell in love with how he fought Gavin Rees and Antonio DeMarco. Where he just takes his time and opens up slowly to break you down for the win.

I liked his style of fighting when he was at '30 and '35. Stayed in the pocket and walked guys down. As another poster said, he tried to emulate Floyd too much after that. Also at the smaller weight, he was much bigger than his opponents and looked better against smaller fighters. Once he moved up to '47 he had no more pop on his punches because his opponents were the same size or bigger. Too bad the street life influenced him. With dedication, he could have been a much better fighter.
