Crawford has only recently filled out into a reasonable sized welterweight , there's divisions for good reason .He's too small , it would be a shame to him beat up .Canelo has good opponents higher up. Crawford has around and in his own division.
heavyweights routinely fight guys 40-50+ lbs bigger than themselves
The operative word being 'heavyweights.' Even so, that statement might be a bit of an exaggeration. Relatively few top HW contenders in the modern age weigh less than 230lbs, so if the average HW fighter is fighting guys 40-50lbs heavier, you're talking guys in the 270-280lbs range, and there's not really many of those either (Fury, fat Ruiz Jr, Bgi Baby Miller).
Crawford looks like he's at his optimal weight at 147. Another 13-21 lbs of muscle would diminish his abilities and would only be attainable through PEDs. Unless Crawford put on that weight through fat I don't see how Crawford could beat Canelo.

People think cause he said he walks around in 160s it means ok he can fight there easily at optimal weight. Don't work like that. Yes some weight bully and drain too much, but Bud realistically ain't going higher than 154. You def aint seeing him ever weigh in for a fight at 168. You got Jermell himself who walks around higher and bigger than Bud claiming he's going to find it hard to make 168 as a fighting weight
