Why is Miguel Cotto so popular when....

Because haters will hate... that's their job. Cotto has accomplished more at WW than any of the current top WWs- including Floyd. When 6 of your last 9 opponents hold or recently held a belt, that's pretty impressive. Now he's fighting another guy that Floyd is not willing to face in Pacman. Floyd waits till fighters get exposed, then he'll fight them, Cotto fights them when they are on top, that's the kind of fighter Cotto is.

I agree..I know its hate.
Simply put, a fan can find something he doesn't like about a fighter and post it but these guys try and find every little detail about a fighter.
Personally I like all fighters styles (accept ones that are mainly defensive or running) and I know the difference between boxing and running.

who said he's popular? Why is Pac/Cotto selling so poorly when Pac/Hatton and everyone else Pac fights sells good? Maybe Cotto isn't as popular as some nuthuggers on this site would have you believe.

Why is Miguel Cotto so popular and able to sell out arenas when he "avoids fighters" (Paul Williams and Floyd Mayweather)
When he is a "dirty fighter" that constantly hits fighters with low blows(Clottey, Judah, and soon Pac)
When he is a "big time quitter" (Margarito)
When he only fights for vacant titles? (Jennings, Quintana)
When he is boring (boxingscene)
When he is a "one handed fighter" (boxingscene)
When "only Puerto Ricans" back him?(boxingscene)
When he gains too much weight before a fight to have an "advantage" against his opponents.

Now these opinions and quotes are not mine but I have read them all on boxingscene.
Is it simply hate or serious allegations ?

but as much as i dont like floyd's run in welterweight, but welterweight is not floyd second weight class. Actually its like if cotto jump all the way to super middle weight to fight the number 2 ranke fight.
