  • If Calzaghe came back and beat these 4 how will he be viewed?

Suppose Calzaghe came back and for his first fight fought and beat Zsolt Erdie which should be easy enough for him. Then He fought Carl Froch who he should have more than enough skill to easily beat. After that he fights Glen Johnson who's style is what I view as just a slower less busy version of himself really, so Joe should be able to get the UD after a tough fight with Glen. Finally he fights and wins a very competitive fight with Dawson, who is really the only 1 of the 4 I personally would give a realistic chance of beating Joe.
If he does these things even in fights where he would most likely be favored to win and runs his record to 50-0, that would be 8 legitimate opponents recently fought. Would fans give him much more respect and would boxing history be considerably more favorable to him if he did this? Discuss and comment

I think he would only need to beat to of them... Dawson and Johnson and think he would win. He's so unorthodox and throw so many punches he's UDs both of them. If he did that e'd get a lot more respect. I'm suprised that e doesn't get his props now... yeah his resumes weak but he has some notable victories.

How ridiculous. He's 38 years old, he's been out of training - let alone the ring - for a long, long time... and four fights take three years these days.

Those guys are no-names. Other than Froch.

Erdei & Johnson do little for Calzaghe. Froch is still out for the jury and would serve only to "shut him up" per se. Dawson is the only one who benefits.

Johnson would get outsmarted and embarrassed by Joe. But it would be a physically tough fight for Joe I think. Johnson is really a twodimensional fighter, not a 3D one like Calz. Erdei might give Calz more problems, but he too wouldn't stand a chance. He's an overprotected and overhyped fighter.

Too much risk for not much in return.

Razor thin win over an old/past Bernard> all those guys put together.
