Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: I Think Chris Eubank Jr. Lost Faith in Me, Glad He's With Bomac

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. - the former head trainer of Chris Eubank Jr. - gave his take on his former charge's upcoming rematch with Liam Smith. Back in January, Jones was in Eubank's corner when he was knocked out in four rounds by Smith in a big upset.

RJJ is very polite and diplomatic.

Now Jr is a washed up fighter with a cracked chin. Imagine having your "iron" chin cracked by Liam Smith?! lol

I spoke with Roy before he fought Calzaghe in New York, He comes across as a very honest gentlemen that knows the sport inside out.He was very polite regards Jr. but like everyone else he now nows what an arrogant prat he really is.

RJJ my favorite fighter growing up. I'm not sure he will ever be a great trainer as he was so naturally talented that he could do things other guys dream of.

Eubank also seems like a real idiot. So there's that.

one day during training for the Smith fight, a sparring partner threw a headshot and Chris went to protect his body and tried to [dodge] the head shot off. I told him 'it's better to protect the head shot than the body shot' and he told me that he 'begged to differ.'
Hmm. Not sure how to think about this.

Cryan Garcia and Usyk would seemingly disagree. Maybe Junior knows he's soft to the body.

However, the 'beg to differ' sounds like something English would say.
