Comments Thread For: Shane Mosley Convinced Devin Haney Does Not Want To Fight Shakur Stevenson

I think Stevenson beats Haney, but he turned the fight down. I don’t like Haney, but no excuses or silly accusations should come from Shakur. He was offered 25% and he said no. Doesn’t matter if no other offers were made. He turned it down, plain and simple. Guy with 4 belts responds to you and said let’s fight for this much, you said no, I want more. That’s it then. It’s not about fighting him or gaining all those belts then.buddyr likes this.

Haney just lost to Loma 8-4. If he loses to Shakur, his career is toast. He can't hand at 140 at all. Regis probably beats him, Russell most definitely beats him, and guys like Teo + Barboza might give him the business too. He'll never be able to handle 147.
Plus, there is some serious talent coming up. Abdullah Mason comes to mind and will be around 20-0 in the next 2 years max. Haney does NOT want any part of that.

Spence, Charlo, Canelo, all the BIG fights Bud desire, are they going to be on ESPN? You need to STOP! Watch Shakur follow his mentor, and get that bag!

The only reason Errol finally bent in negotiations is because he was finally cornered. He had to either fight Bud to unify, fight Boots or vacate and move up. He and Al chose the most lucrative cash out option. It's not rocket science.

PBC does the fight, and it's a BIG success! Give credit where credit is due!

It would have been Bowe-Lewis all over again if not for Errol.
