Pretending they are on the same career level is insulting. Morrell brings literally zero to Benavidez , no real belts, no ranking position, no money, only a moron would waste his time fighting him at this stage of his career.

Morrell is not on his radar so it can't be a duck. Benavidez on the other hand has been dead centre on Canelos radar for years, plus is a huge ppv fight, so that is why that actually is genuine ducking.
You made me laugh. Last year he said yes, now he's not on his radar. I'd love to see benavidez get his shot a canelo, he has wait more than enough. But I don't see canelo giving him the chance, who else could he fight?

Someone who furthers his career. Now explain what is the benefit of fighting Morrel for Benavidez.

It’s the EXACT same scenario of Beni getting ducked by Canelo. Why? No money in it. Benividas may actually be able to beat him but guys like Charlo have a more well known BRAND. I don’t like it either. It is what it is.

I hope Benevidez vs Andrade goes through. Great fight. Canelo will avoid the winner though, if he beats Mell.

Amazing, how many people are defending Benavidez for not taking tough fights.

Ok, Morrel jr. brings nothing for him, but we must also say Canelo has no obligation to fight Benavidez. Canelo can do whatever he wants, he can fight Crawford.

Benavidez himself is barely proven, he only beat Canelo`s leftover Plant, so we can`t pretend he is on another level than other top 10 super middleweights.

I think Benavidez should fight Andrade and I can`t see why boxing fans wouldn`t want to see this fight to be made.

Morrell is kind of like Janibek. Extremely talented and dangerous, but not enough fights or significant wins to warrant "duck" talk just yet.

If the money is right, that is the benefit. If canelo doesn't fight benavidez, the winner would hold two regular belts and be the clear next fight for canelo, will be hard for canelo to avoid that fight, even the alphabet soups would be hard pressed to keep canelo out of the way, with the added benefit of fans clamoring for the fight. And yhe most important, how about the best fighting the best.

The money can't be right if the ppv will be crap because Morrell is not a draw. Benavidez is already the clear next for Canelo and has been totally brushed off, another fake belt won't change anything. Canelo doesn't care about that.

That literally never happens ever just for fun. The best only fight the best for something of value, either mandatories, belts, money, or eliminators. When did any fighter fight a killer just for fun?
