Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz on Wilder: They're Trying to Pay Me What I Got for My Last Fight; It Doesn't Make Sense

Andy Ruiz feels it is only right for him to earn more money as he makes his way up the boxing food chain. In that sense, the former heavyweight titlist from Imperial, Calif., thinks it is only logical that a potential fight with Deontay Wilder should net him a larger purse than his previous fight.

I'm really getting tired of hearing about Ruiz. It's been a year since his last fight. He has only fought 2 times in almost 3 years of time! Aside from waiting on Wilder, there's no planned fight for Ruiz AT ALL. I can almost guarantee we won't even see him at all this year.

I don't know what the negotiations behind closed doors have been between Wilder-Ruiz. Are they low balling Ruiz, did he price himself out? Is Wilder scared? Is it because Wilder has bigger things going on like the planned fights with Joshua? I don't know or care what the reasons are.

Ruiz needs to just shut up and take fights. He should have fought two times this year, even if it was against no hopers.

They still don't have a deal done despite talking about it for a year. It should've happened years ago. Who cares now....
While I agree with you to some extent... What's the excuse for Ruiz having fought only 2 times in the recent (nearly) 3 years? Once vs Arreola who totally should have had zero chance and made Ruiz look like shyt... and the other being against an ancient Ortiz?

Ruiz is wasting a lot of time not fighting at all.

If you had properly trained for your rematch against Joshua instead of partying and eating pizzas, you would be earning huge paydays every fight as defending champion.

I'd rather watch Ruiz give Wilder all sorts of hell with someone hitting the canvas than watch Wilder and AJ in some boring chessmatch dance around for 12 rounds and a draw.
