its not my income if i havnt earnt it
belts = cash too
he could say to tank, u want these belts bro u come to see me
its not all about money too, 25% of a bigger pot is more money, i think devin explained this to him in a tweet plus there is a thing called undisputed & its quite hard to achieve, do u not want it handed to u on a plate? no thanks says shakur for some odd reason
plus the max shakur could get, beltless and just in the division v haney would actually be about 35% i would say, so he refused the offer based on that 10% or so, oh dearComment

Half the salary he earned? He didn't earn anything. He's a challenger for the world title. He calls no shots in that scenario.
Make 2 million fighting for undisputed or make 2 million fighting tba...
Easy choiceComment

Should he have taken 25 percent? Maybe. Not that he should have to, but the reality of the business model of the sport is that Shakur is too good to make big money right now. Top guys don’t want the L.
Ennis might have to do the same to get a really big name and break out.Comment

I don't know where the 25% number came from, but that isn't quite half because Stevenson would never get 50/50 to fight for undisputed in a new weight class that he has no belts in.
If you're that confident in beating Haney, why not accept 25% and beat him, become undisputed and then you get to call the shots and make the lion's share of your next fights? At some point these fighters at lower weight classes need to bet on themselves if they want the recognition it takes to earn A side money. How much did Haney make to fight Kambosos the first time I wonder? Edit: Haney accepted 30/70 split on PPV, I don't know what the other numbers break down to.Comment

beating haney alone in a big fight would elevate shakur to new heights i would say, the belts are the icing on the cake for him, he would make up that percentage in his very next fight & quite possibly in every fight after that too, if he beat him in style and put on a bit of a show even better

I dont think the comparison is the same. Its more like your Co worker making 3xs as much money as you doing the same job and the employer basing it off of your co worker having better performance.
The upside to it would be making more than what youd normally make and if you do a better job than your co worker than you get his pay from that day forward.
But in reality, its boxing and these dudes get hit in the head. A majority of regular jobs dont require that so I can understand a fighter trying to get his due.Comment
