I'm not a fan of neither. I don't follow them or know anything about them 2 fighters. It was not a low blow, in my opinion.

I called it on the belt line. I also had the advantage of watching replays in slow motion from every possible angle. I didn't think it was low. Apparently this happened in the Usyk/Joshua rematch.

I'm wondering if the ref wasn't looking for something dirty prior to the fight when Dubois said " HEADBUTTS... KNEES... I'LL BEAT USYK BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!' Probably wasn't a good idea to suggest he would resort to dirty tactics to win prior to the fight.

If you're talking about the belt line as determined where the belt line is by the ref...that's borderline, but not the actual belt itself because as I said, the position of the belt may be higher or lower.

Yes, a caution... "keep the punches up" without breaking the action.

The belt on the shorts is irrelevant. Boxers where them at different Heights (although they shouldn't).

The belt line is actually an imaginary line at the top of the hips, just under the belly button.

Us yks trunks didn't look too high but I hear people say they were. So I'm sure his belly button mustve been below the belt line.

Correct. And a ref will usually say before a fight that the trunks are kinda high etc.

more often than not though a ref will usually say to keep the punches up if he felt the beltline shots were low. As you said to rockin’ earlier.

but from my understanding and what coincides with what shawn porter said is that that’s a legal punch. Punches aren’t illegal until they travel below the beltline of the trunks. Again, that’s according to shawn porter and that’s what I always had thought as well

I don't know what Porter said...I watched a UK feed. But many people said and believe they saw conflicting things. He may believe he saw a punch that landed above the belt line...as defined by the ref. IMO...I believe it was low, but what counts is what the ref believed he saw, and he called it low. Frankly...I didn't see anything from Dubois that made him look like a winner.

That was the shot in question.

Skip to 25:55 and he explains it.

But you’re right all that matters is what the ref seen. It doesn’t help either that there were a few low and borderline shots before this.
