Rahman vs Mercer on 11/19? Rahman vs Holyfield Next?

BoxingScene.com was advised that a bout between former heavyweight champions Hasim Rahman (36-7-2, 36KOs) and Ray Mercer (36-7-1, 26KOs) is in the works for November 19 at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, New York. The arena will be scaled to seat 7500 fans and may end up as an internet-based pay-per-view. [details]

Mercer and Holyfield both beat Rahman's "chin straight up everytime I jab" ass.

I doubt whether Holyfield vs. Rahman will ever happen.

They seem to have a lot of plans and discussions but rarely fight anymore. Rahman was supposed to be fighting Meehan on the Tua-Cameron card but it never happened.

I think that Mercer is older than Holyfield by at least a few years. He should not be fighting. I recall seeing him fight Wladimir Klitschko at least 5-6 years ago and he was then 42; which age was mentioned on the video broadcast.

He was KO'd in, I think, the 7th round. He mentioned his own age when he was asked to give an opinion on Klitschko's merits. His comment was, to me, a sort of "sour g****s".

He was actually age 41 then, in June 2002, and was coming off several wins and before that a close fight with Lennox Lewis.

              Here's Mercer's stats:

              http://www.boxrec.com/list_bouts.php...1620&cat=boxer

Wlad was the first to knock him down with a punch in the first round, and later in the 6th became the first to stop him. Mercer was still very good at age 41. He takes very good care of himself, eating right and avoiding drugs and alcohol.

He defeated Hersisia last year, which is amazing at age 47. I'm hoping he'll defeat Rahman next month.

These may be the worst possible fights in the heavyweight division to make and yes I will be there :/
