The major issue is that if even professional fighters can’t agree on it then governing bodies need to provide much more clarity.

On other hand Dubois and all those rooting for him basically said he should ‘rough up’ Usyk and make him uncomfortable. They were playing on extreme borderline on legal punches (IMHO on wrong side of it) throughout and i think Usyk taught them a lesson that if they feel only way to win is to fight dirty or as near to it as possible, he will take advantage wherever he can. Next time other fighters will take that into their calculations and think twice so for Usyk at least it affords bit of future insurance.

Its a bit shameful that with physical advantages of Dubois he had to keep punching so close to belt line (IMHO clearly below many times and pretty dirty). Also he kept doing it even after the ref low blow ruling and couldn’t win as Usyk made adjustments to block with his elbow and tuck up and ultimately knocked him down with what seemed to be stiff jabs.

Am rooting for Usyk all the way but not sure he would withstand Wilder connecting or Fury style but really hope it comes through.

            Actually yes, they do.

Remember...Crawford tossed a blatant low blow (fully squared up, which means he intended to do it) on Amir Khan and NSB said that it didn't count because it hit the thigh, not the balls. Despite being even more clearly under the belt line AND the navel.

DuBWAH wasn't squared up, it was a bolo punch aimed right at the lower part of the abdomen, and would have landed square on or just below the navel; but with Usyk's trunks all the way up you can't tell that. It was a beautiful punch especially given the height of both guys.

It's fair to criticize what happened after that, but frankly, that looked like a clean shot that the ref just made a call on.

Only Fury - that's why this fight happened because he was too scared to fight Usyk. At least Dubois had the guts to get in the ring with him.

As for Dubois. Why was he even fighting Usyk? He didn't beat anyone in the top-10 to get the fight. He's never beaten anyone in the top-20 as far as I can see.

He did the exact same thing that Oleksandr Usyk did when Ward was touching that body. He kept constantly turning to the referee to complain because he was ready to quit from those body shots
seems to me the black fighters don't like getting hit in the head by E.U. fighters. Dubois took knee and quit. and Bradley took a knee against Provodnikov and if the last bell wouldn't have rang, he would have definitely quit. see how these theories can work multiple ways? you heard Bradley say it, and you as a herd animal just repeats the idiocy. I boxed for 9 years of my young life. and up until 2020 I was a boxing judge/ref and also trained youngsters in amateurs. little secret for ya, body shots are something absolutely nobody likes. let it soak in, don't just talk back. thanks

Do we assume the whole glove has to land below the navel line, or more than half the width of the glove, or any part of the glove? There doesn't seem to be a detailed statement of the rule

If he was able to say he fought his heart out...and took it to his shield...people might listen a little harder. Fact is...nobody believes he should have won that fight except for one lucky controversial punch.
