Hey Rexy, I thought the end of this fight was similar to the end of AJ vs Ruiz in some respects, and very different in others.

Similarities: A big, powerful British HW ran out of gas in a world title fight after doing well early on and stumbled to his knees after taking a shot to the head that probably wouldn't have bothered him too much if he'd still been fresh.

Differences: One guy stayed on his knees after going down and allowed the ref to count him out. The other dragged himself up at the count of 8 and nodded his head when the ref asked him if he wanted to box on.

Tough comparison because AJ had been dropped four times and ignored the refs commands, I understood the ref for stopping the fight based on that and AJ's body language. AJ looked like the fight had been taken out of him, and his body language looked like he was finished but he also plead that it shouldn't have been stopped.

Dubois on the other hand; after the seventh round I texted EffPandas and said "If that KD wasn't with 5 seconds left, I think Dubois stays down. He's looked like he's wanted to quit for a while now." and then in the next round, he took a knee and quit off a stiff jab. No argument over the stoppage either. Just walked to his corner content like Marcus Browne when he lost to Beterbiev.

I don't think either of them really have that "fighters mentality" so to speak, but AJ at least is competitive and still wants to win, while DDD has quit twice now in the face of adversity. Guys supported it in the Joyce fight saying "His face was broken! It could have ended his career!" (His face wasn't broken, he had his next fight before Joyce did FFS) but what will the excuse be now? He quit because he felt he won and was discouraged?

He has a far better chance than nothing opponents like Dubois. My preference is to have Fury fight Usyk. I don't fault Usyk for not making that match as Fury can be a real arse. But who am I to knock a guy who will make $50M for a crossover fight that no one really wants to see. The double knockout would be Joshua getting creamed by Wilder and then Fury putting Usyk to sleep so you can forget about these two heavyweights that will not be remembered as great heavyweights by anyone in the future.

Joshua couldn't dent a marshmallow. I really hope he makes the fight with Wilder as you will see Anthony on the canvas some where in between "Oh say," and "can you see." But I doubt it really comes together as Joshua doesn't want anything to do with a real puncher like Wilder. You think he was tentative against a rum dumb like Helenius? One taste of Wilder's power and you'll have AJ backing up on his heels all night. But still, he'll get caught, go down and hopefully go away in the heavyweight division.

Some people in here don't know the rules. The referee decides BEFORE the 1st round where the belt line is and tells both fighters what he will consider low.
