he was a great super middleweight...fast...unorthodox style...relentless...champion for 10 years...beat the best in his division.

i dont even think about his win over rjjr because we ALL know roy is faded.

his win over Hopkins was impressive because bhop was still a good fighter.

That's one thing that really p*sses me off on this forum. Every single P4P list I can remember seeing recently had Bhop in the top 5 or 6, yet when Calzaghe beat him he was apparently old and washed up?

How many fighters have won the second half of a fight against Bhop?..........

        Haters, simple as.

Great supermiddleweight boxers are the likes of James Toney, RJJ, etc.

You can't put them in the same catergory as Calzaghe.

Calzaghe was good but not great.

your way overrating him, calzaghe has'nt beat no top 10 pound-4-pound except hopkins
calzaghe has never even reached the number 1 spot in the pound-4-pound ranking
calzaghe arguably lost his best win(the fight where he stepped in with a pound-4pound fighter)
therefore, calzaghe is a nobody when it comes to resume
but he is the best super middle-weight ever(in terms of accomplishments
but the division was so crappy
i cant even fathom someone having him an atg..
            atg?..i dont think so
he never shocked the world....at all
why would he be an all time great? there's no reason, so there's only one answer. no

Just seen your sig and it's soooo true.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins based on not hitting him. Durr.

And that simply is one of the reasons why he's not great. Because a great fighter would have accepted a rematch,

                  first to show

                  - that he actually is the better fighter

                  second to show

                  - that he can win a fight based on punching rather than the apparent "aggression" that won him it.

                  third

                  - to prove doubters wrong - i and am sure many others agree that Hopkins won!

                  that's all i'm saying.

I stopped reading when he wrote i thought hopkins won. Hopkins was pretty hopeless in that fight past the few opening rounds imo and his faking of low blows is unforgetable, if not laughable. Actually i lie, after hopkins faked the 3 rd low blow and was told to get on with it, he had a little spirt of a few punches (wow) but then reverted back to nothing. Calzaghes resume is not great, he should imo have got his backside out of wales 5 years earlier but hopkins is still a good scalp to have even at his stage in life. How good kessler is we will see.........
