no. just put 2 & 2 together. if a 39 & 43 year old roy & bernard can drop you, go the full 12 rounds with bernard making it a difficult 12 rounds, imagine what would happen if they fought prime vs prime? Just do the math.

cosign. Skills mean something, but to really be considered among atg's, you have to challenge yourself against the best and fight people in their primes. No excuses-I make this argument about Floyd all the time. Both guys have great skills and decent resumes.

Jo cal shoulda fought Dawson then a whole bunch of folks would have to stfu about his resume, but he chose not to. His bad.

yes exactly. he moaned and groaned his whole career about not getting respect and being overlooked. he wanted to prove he was the best blah blah blah then he finally has 2 big fights and calls it quits. so a controversial gift decision and a total farce against a shot fighter proves you are the best joe? hate to tell you this but roy jones isn't good anymore grab a newspaper buddy.

I'm gonna disagree, he got up every time he went down in his career so I think it showed heart.
Bhop is still a formidable fighter, roy- not at all. Bhop beats every lhw xcept maybe Dawson so I disagree with everyone ****ting on Jo cal for that win.

Was Joe in his prime during those two fights?

I think we have similar views but I think early in a fight, any boxer of any age is still going to be quick. Age shows a little later in the fight.

yup. he had roy jones jr above him at 175 & he had bernard bellow him at 160. yet he chose to stay at 168.

& i dont wanna hear the "O we tried to fight them in 199whatever year but so & so backed out or they didnt want the fight." & save bbc or uk website link trying to prove joe wanted to fight them.

If he really wanted to fight them, he would have come to america much sooner & started knocking guys off & get their attention & make them have to fight you.

But it was too easy eating frank warren's 168 lb chums in wales.

He was a hell of a lot closer to his prime then those guys were. He was coming off the Kessler fight witch plenty of people would say was his peak.

and hopkins dominated the first half of the fight so i guess that tells you how easy it would be if hopkins was even younger.
