The Fantastic 4-Kings of the 1980's are the greatest, creme de la creme, best of the best, upper echelon supermacy of Welterweight fighters in all of boxing history - Roberto Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas Hearns and Wilfred Benitez.

Terence Crawford is a great fighter and can compete in any era, with that be said however, he loses to all of the members of the Fab 4.

Crawford is even with the 1990's great Welterweights - Oscar De La Hoya, Felix Trinidad, Sugar Shane Mosley and Pernell Whitaker as well as the more modern era duo of May and Pac.

Trainers that never boxed. Angleo Dundee leaps to mind. The way Angelo told it, he just was a pal of Carmen Basilio & was in his dressing room commiserating after a loss when a press guy came in & said, disrespectfully, 'guess you'll have to retire now Carmen'. Angelo was so infuriated he said 'I'll train you Carmen & you'll become a champion'!
Even stranger, actually much weirder, example was Jean Cocteau. Cocteau was a playwright, novelist, surrealist artist & general intellectual. He was also the lover of 'Panama Al' Brown. After Brown lost his title, Cocteau told him 'these people, Al, they don't love you or care about you & I do'. Cocteau took over PAB's training & he regained the world title. Seriously, you couldn't make this up but its true!
Wilfredo Benitez was trained by his father, who never boxed, but since his father successfully f""""ed up Wilfredo & his brothers & ruined their lives that isn't exactly a funny story. Ages ago there was a brilliant piece on this site entitled 'How Papa Benitez pimped out his sons'. It was very dark, disturbing reading.

Bread really showed his ass and how easily his ego is bruised on that first reply. He is knowledgeable in boxing but by no means a grandmaster and has NEVER FOUGHT A ROUND IN HIS LIFE. It’s always the wanna be’s who will talk about who they know, “the street” and what they’re “ truly capable of” but at the end of the day he will never know what it’s like to compete in the chamber of truth, and it’s not like he can’t, he can easily take all his “knowledge” and compete in the amateurs in the masters division but his ego won’t let him take the risk even if it means understanding his fighters at a much deeper lvl. Before anyone brings up all the trainers who never fought keep in mind many competed at a high lvl in the armatures. I question the manhood and integrity of all these people and key board warriors who won’t take a simple armature fight against someone who’s never competed or at least a smoker but will talk all kinds of trash. I guess it’s far easier to stay broke and argue about promotional companies and fighters that have 0 respect for those who never did it. At the end of the day I never went pro or won a world title but I been in there and did it for over 2 decades and can wear my gloves around my neck and damn near every notable gym in the city his my picture on the wall

Bud has never even come close to losing. And he just near murdered the #4 P4P guy. Canelo legitimately lost to GGG twice, many people debate a few of his other fights, and Bivol made him look silly. And Bivol is Canelo's natural weight class, where he should be fighting.

I loved Floyd, but the tail end of his career was weak. And he really drew in the first Maidana fight and it can be argued he lost.

I agree Floyd had like two fights he should of probably lost that’s why he rematched them but still Floyd probably the best in the last 25 or 30 years skill for skill for skill and talent

when paquiao was active after Floyd retired he had a better resume than everyone including canelo

canelo has done a lot he started at 16 the same weight class bud started around 130 or 135 fighting grown men

Trinidad’s pops actually was a pro boxer. Fought Salvador Sanchez. He wasn’t very good but had 16 fights I believe.
