You’re right in that it is a silly fight, and unnecessary. Canelo needs to fight Benavidez in 2024. The only other fighter Canelo would get a pass for is if he fights Munguia and I don’t see that happening in 2024 due to promotional/network ties.

With that said, the fight can easily go from “silly” to legendary, ATG-making for Crawford is he wins. That intrigue being there would interest a lot of fans of the sport. Especially those who just hate Canelo, even if they aren’t necessarily Crawford fans.

But yeah, Benavidez is with PBC, so is Canelo. There’s really no excuse to not fight him in 2024. Crawford would be a weird selection.

1.5 million? No. Crawford is barely more popular than Jermell

Well, it does seem a bit unnecessary given the other potential matchups out there. Canelo vs. Benavidez, for example, would be a much more compelling fight, especially considering their styles and history. At the end of the day, though, boxing is all about entertainment, and if a Canelo vs. Crawford fight can generate interest and excitement among fans, then why not? It might not be the most logical matchup, but sometimes those are the fights that end up being the most memorable.Speaking of excitement, if you're a fan of betting and looking for a thrilling experience, I personally find online casinos to be a great option. They offer a diverse range of games and betting opportunities, and I've recently come across a new one that I think is worth checking out.

Canelo’s power and experience clash with Crawford’s technical precision, making this fight incredibly hard to predict. For those looking to place a bet, it's essential to stay updated on the latest odds and analysis from trusted sources. If you're into exploring options, a good casino like https://bmcaluniv.org/ offers diverse betting opportunities to enhance the experience.
          cool,thanks

Still holding on to this notion that people are still buying PPV in massive numbers, eh? I see. What a stupid, backward notion.

You take a survey ask them if they're buying PPVs they won't answer. Meaning, they don't. And they still expect massive PPV numbers. I see.

Uh.. Canelo would be a 15-1 favorite, and PPVs I'd assume 400-700k. Canelo hasn't sniffed 1m PPVs since GGG. He did 400k vs Bivol and something like 600kish vs Berlanga?

As for the odds, it's free money. There are 3 weight classes between them, and on of that folks forget that Crawford is actually older than Canelo by 3 years. Dude's 37.

It's delusional to think PPVs are still being bought in massive numbers. 100K itself is hard to achieve in this day and age of internet mass cheating, let alone 400,000 to 700,000. People need to change this gullible mentality of always believing everything that is put out there. Why do you think HBO and Showtime left? What you see reported are fake numbers. Ask Dana Whyte and he'll tell you it's hard to even sell 10K. And his PPVs are a lot cheaper.

If you're referring to Jones-Ruiz, lets keep in mind that Ruiz was one of the worst hw champs in 100 years. A guy that Tua demolished in 30 seconds. Cant really compare that to where Canelo ranks at super middle......

Well, almost a year has passed and the fight never happened. There was a lot of talk but in the end nothing came of it. Canelo beat Berlanga in 2024, it wasn’t the most spectacular fight but a win is a win, and Crawford took apart Spence and is now the undisputed champ at welterweight.

And you know why the Canelo vs Crawford fight never happened? Because the Saudis dropped a suitcase full of cash and said, ‘Bro, here’s Skull, go fight him.’ Meanwhile, they probably told Crawford, ‘Sit tight, maybe something will happen in September’. At this point the main boxing promoter isn’t PBC or Top Rank, it’s Saudi Arabia.

It would be great if athletes had more autonomy in their choices and couldn’t just be bought out like this. This was a fight a lot of people were waiting for. But in modern sports money talks. If you want to be backed by a clothing brand or even a Saudi fund, your team needs to work on your image for years, build the right connections and push PR. But there is another option which is turning to gamb ling company sponsorships.

On one hand it might seem unethical. But on the other it gives athletes more autonomy. And honestly these sponsorships bring in more money and fewer risks compared to deals with clothing brands. For example, I saw on another forum that some legal casinos, like the ones listed here, finance sports events in their countries.

Again there are ethical concerns but let’s be real, athletes no matter the sport are now extremely dependent on their media image and the messages they put out. One wrong comment and their deal with Nike or Adidas is gone. Honestly I would like to see that change. Sports should be about skill, endurance and competition, not about who said the wrong thing and doesn’t fit the perfect ambassador profile.
