    That plays into it...right?

The expectation for this fight was so much higher thn "Numero Uno". Tickets went on sale in early-August, was it?

This was an Aug 19 article:

After a monstrous opening sale, less than 1,000 tickets remain at the 16,200-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena for Top Rank’s ‘FirePower’ Pay Per View featuring Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto. All of the 9,000 seats at $150, $350 and $500 are completely sold out. The available seats are at the $1,000 and $750 price categories. Bob Arum, CEO of Top Rank, was elated with the huge response. “We are looking forward to making Pacquiao vs Cotto as one of the greatest box office and Pay Per View successes of all-time,” he said. Pacquiao vs. Cotto is scheduled November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao vs. Cotto ‘FirePower’ will be available on HBO Pay Per View. (PR)

Here we are in Early October - 7 weeks later, and you can still buy $350 seats.

    Understand?

Conversely, you would expect the brokers to raise their prices if the tickets were selling WELL.

The announcement in August (posted above) was that all except 1,000 seats had sold.

Ticket brokers largely buy at face value. No need to sell below face just yet. There's time.

Brokers, especially those part of the NATB, do not get their tickets at face value like the public. They are provided a discount granted they buy and sell ALL events at the venue - MGM Grand Garden Arena being the case.

Alot of people dont know that though.
I was lucky. I stayed at the summer bay witch is like a mile or so away from the mgm. It wasnt the most beautiful place on the strip but it did the trick. I booked before the fight was confirmed just to be safe.

For sports event, (league events) many brokers buy at face or a negotiated price from season ticket holders. Others have offics in India (for exmple) that purchase online at face. Agents have to manually input to get past the captcha.

The method varies, but many tix are bought at face.

Manny is innocent in all of this. The ones to blame are his promoter and trainer.

Arum is the one who said back in August that 15,000 of 16,000 seats were already sold. And now he is sitting on a bunch of empty seats. If Firepower does well, thank HBO.

Arum was the one who said that Numero Uno would flop.

Roach said that Numero Uno wouldnt do more than 3,000 at the gate.
Roach said that Schaefer went to theatres because "they gave up selling this on PPV".
Roach said that Numero Uno might not even take place because the fight wouldn't sell.

Manny is largely blameless in all the trash-talk.

AH are you going by what the brokers have or TM and the MGM box office?

because promoters go by the latter. The brokers portion of the seats they are given are considered sold product to the thats why you can have seats available to them and not TM

                    I use the NSAC standard.

In this instance , there are two things that are duplicitous:

Arum used the phrase "sold out". Well, not really. The brokers are your sales partners and they have seats.

Second item is that all of the seats were not made available.
