  • Comments Thread For: UFC's "Suga Show" Could Provide a Future Boxing Boon

It was a big weekend in combat sports. In case you missed it, just after 1 a.m. ET on Sunday in Boston, a new star was born. His name is Sean O'Malley. Or "Suga Sean," if you prefer. And he's as close to a second coming of Conor McGregor - melding legit MMA prowess with over-the-top personality - as there's been since the Irishman went full-on octagonal supernova in Las Vegas, just 13 days before Christmas in 2015.

Articles like these are why boxing journalism is in the toilet. It’s all about clicks and views, so let’s promote some UFC fighter with no credible boxing experience.

O’Malley has no business in a boxing ring.

Hes got star potential but definitely not to Conor level. I think hes a lot more vulnerable than Conor was circa 2015/16 too.

But these crossover fights are annoying anyway. Tank would slaughter him in boxing rules, within 3-4 rounds, and both of these guys have more interesting stuff they could be doing in their own sports.

“Over the top personality.” His personality comes from his wacky look. If these reporters have watched a single one of his interviews, you’ll quickly realize he has very average mic skills. He’s no second coming of Conor.

Puh-leeze. This guy is the flavor of the month. He won't be anything in UFC land within two to three years. Nobody stays a decade-long star in the current UFC or White will need to pay them, and we all know he hates to do that.

no. they always having other top guys there. and its hard to stay on top when you fight 4 times a year against true top guys. that is why boxers stay on top so long. fight 2x yr. and lackluster competition. that is one big reason why ufc has taken a large portion of our boxing fans imo

Who wrote this article theres way better MMA talent than this guy. He ain't even beat the best 135ers in Merab nor Umar nurmagomedov (khabib cousin)Rule to boxers and MMA guys stop talking crossovers til you cleared your division also hey Dana share 2x the revenue with your fighters then a lot more of us MMA guys would stop talking such for only doing it for a retirement payday check since Dana likes skimping on the bag
