He just has to keep winning, probably Bud will drop the belts, Boots can fight for vacant titles unify, he's big at 147 once he does he can get auto shots at 154lb titles. He's marketable enough due to likelihood of him getting a stoppage.

there is also an argument which i havnt really gone into, that if boots really wanted to he could have made better headway to fight either bud or spence, boots is no spring chicken, hes age prime now but i do know it can be done if u really want to go for the top guys in your division if u think u are ready, u first start talking about them, calling them out and get in place asap for a shot at them, seems to me hes had time to do that if he really wanted to do it or maybe not, maybe hes not so confident as he makes out to be

Lesser fighters than Boots, who have done way less than him, and bring way less money and name recognition than him, don’t deserve these title shots…but they get it anyway. So in that case, why can’t Boots, who has done more than Avaneysan, Kavaliaskas, and Benavidez, get a title shot?

It’s boxing, that’s just how it works. And that’s why it mostly sucks. In MLB, NBA, NFL, you just can’t skip and choose what teams you want to play against or don’t want to play against. If so, those sports would be way less popular because fans would be turned off that the best ranked teams can just avoid the other best ranked teams. And choose when they want to play them.
