WBC saw that AJ just won, realized that AJ-Wilder could happen and because they get paid as a percentage of purse... they know that wilder-AJ would generate them more revenue than wilder-Ruiz...

lmfao WBC is so openly corrupt and makes their own rules up as they go along.

Never forget them being the only ABC org that came out and said WBC belt WOULD NOT BE ON THE LINE if canelo rematched Bivol at 168..... obviously because they would rather continue to get purse cuts of Canelo's larger purses than purse cuts of Bivol's smaller purses...

As long as ABC belts get paid by percentage of purse they have a conflict of interest in all of their decisions....

I never said it was going to happen but considering how ****** the WBC is I wouldn't be surprised.
Fury will likely fight the winner of Usyk vs DDD and then either face the winner of Zhang/Joyce and then AJ or simply retire with a big British showdown against AJ.

I called this a long time ago. I am wondering why people are surprised by this? or why they couldn't see this coming. In Uzbekistan, the WBC will make Wilder vs Joshua as the final eliminator if that fight can be made.

All these sanctioning bodies are simply businesses trying to make the most money out of boxing and each body will try to get the biggest names.

The WBC shouldn’t abandon the final eliminator, they should call for purse bids and force the fighters to either get it on or lose their spot in the rankings.

That’s what a legitimate sanctioning body would do.

Everyone knew Wilder wasn't taking that fight when the Saudi money popped up. He'll cash out just like Charlo and Spence. Maybe he can catch AJ with a rusty right. Who knows?

Purse bids would be a nightmare scenario and the fighters & PBC would have egg on their face. PBC doesn’t want their hand forced & WBC all to happy to go along. Wilder & Ruiz probably view their matchup as some blockbuster where they’d be entitled to mega pay days. Not wanting to take a financial loss, the purse bid wouldn’t even be in the ballpark of what Ruiz & Wilder are likely looking for. Avoiding the purse bid altogether helps everyone save face IMO.

Yes once the fight is signed this will be the final eliminator this is the most logical choice. As corrupt as the WBC are it's not there fault Wilder and Ruiz feel they are worth more than a few million a piece to fight each other for the mandatory spot.

PBC doesn’t want their hand forced but so what? It’s shouldn’t be the WBC’s job to cater to PBC.

Just like it shouldn’t be the WBO’s job to cater to Bob Arum.

So the winner of Wilder/Joshua will become the mandatory challenger to Tyson Fury's WBC heavyweight title. Cool!
