Comments Thread For: Canelo Alvarez: Jermell Is A Better Fighter Than His Brother; He Have A Better Resume

NEW YORK - There was a time well into late June when Canelo Alvarez believed he would fight Jermall Charlo on September 30. The four-weight world champion happily accepted a switch to Jermell Charlo, but Alvarez acknowledged after a press conference Tuesday in Manhattan that he has embraced a more difficult fight against boxing's undisputed 154-pound champion.

A surprise matchup, yet looks better than Crawford-Spence. But to be fair, not many thought that fight would he so one-sided.

Obviously this is a better, closer fight I'd say, two undisputed champions, its unique.

If Charlo wins this, how many champions have had 8 world titles in two divisions undisputed, at the same time?

To be honest, I'd rather see Charlo fight Tim Tszyu at his own weight. Tszyu was gonna pluck his feathers. Now when he comes back down after Canelo stomps a bigger hole in his ass, he's still gonna bypass Tim Tszyu again. The rate that Tszyu has shown improvement with each fight, allows me to see and imagine what he'll be like on fight night aganst Charlo. And it would be nasty what he would do to Charlo. It would shake up the boxing world, just like the outcome of Bud vs Errol did

I dont think Jermell is better than Jermall. Resume is heavily dependent on opportunity, not just skill and ability.

What a joke, even an old Canelo can whip BOTH Charlo’s ON THE SAME NIGHT.

Sooooo, he’s basically saying that he’s going to take this fight against a junior middle weight at super middle weight and then fight an even lesser opponent in his brother for the following fight? This dude is out here basically telling his fan base that he knows they’re ****** and will support him regardless.

Jermell takes risk, jermall just been looking for a cashout the last 4-5 years dude has been equal to Andrade @160 & could say such for 168 (ain't had a fight there) he has legit fights with adames Janibek he will probably return fight the lara garcia winner and cry how great he is before getting smoked by canelo for that is his next fight

2 charlos, benavidez and spence were his options.

he ducking benavidez and spence had Crawford to deal with. That just leav3s the charlos.

Morrell high risk, no reward and Andrade ain't pbc. He just fights on showtime like boots. They ain't with haymon. So they probably won't get a Canelo fight.

so who else was Canelo gonna fight?

It's gonna be jermell, jermall, and a fight out of nowhere instead of benavidez

Andrade is now with PBC. Canelo wouldn't fight Boo-Boo if he was sitting in his Mama's living room.
