    Hands of a puncher.

This might be a weird question, but, do certain hand types lend themselves better to being suited for hard punchers than others? What kind of hands do hard punchers usually have?

They have varying types of hands, what they all do have in common though is thick, shredded and wide backs, especially in the middle back and traps area with developped shoulders.

Idk. I think Sonny Liston was known for having huge hands and he was a fearsome puncher.

Big strong hands help punching power, but more so than that they can help prevent injuries. Having said that, there are other factors that are significantly more important.

Big strong hands, including wrists, probably help most in a bare knuckle or street fight.

Force is mass times acceleration. It's dictated by how much of your body mass you can get involved in the punch and how fast you can get it moving. I like to think of punching power as force on target. All the force in the world doesn't mean anything if you can't land it, and proper targeting at the proper time is critical.

Most people can hit harder than their hands can take, so being able to have proper structure in the hands and wrists also makes a difference in terms of how hard someone will be able to punch.
